Mexico Issues Travel Warning for Arizona Over Law

April 27 (Bloomberg) -- Mexicans in Arizona should carry documentation and “act carefully” after the state passed a law requiring local police to determine the immigration status of anyone suspected of being in the country illegally, Mexico’s Foreign Ministry said.

The ministry said the warning is directed toward Mexicans living, studying or planning to travel to the southwestern U.S. state, which shares a border with northern Mexico, according to the e-mailed statement sent today. It comes as members of U.S. President Barack Obama’s administration said they have concerns about the new law and may seek to overturn it in court.

“There is an adverse political environment for migrant communities and all Mexican visitors,” Mexico’s ministry said. “It’s important to act carefully and respect the local laws.”

This is progress. For decades Mexico has been enabling its citizens to cross over illegally - because there was no consequence for doing so. All it takes is one fairly mild enforcement law and the country starts getting it’s act together.

The best by product of the law is that it provoked a boycott by San Francisco. If we could only get Mexico to join in....mission accomplished.

Rules for Americans traveling in Mexico:

http://www.usembassy-mexico.gov/eng/faqs.html

Entry to Mexico: As of March 1, 2010, all U.S. citizens – including children — must present a valid passport, book or card, for travel beyond the “border zone” into the interior of Mexico. Entry by any means, for example by plane or car, is included in this requirement. The “border zone” is generally defined as an area between 20 to 30 kilometers of the border with the U.S., depending on the location. Stays of less than 12 hours within the border zone do not require a visa or tourist card.

U.S. citizens traveling as tourists beyond the border zone or entering Mexico by air must pay a fee to obtain a tourist card, also known as an FM-T, available from Mexican border crossing points, Mexican tourism offices, airports within the border zone and most airlines serving Mexico.

Upon arrival in Mexico, business travelers must complete and submit a form (Form FM-N 30 days) authorizing the conduct of business, but not employment, for a 30-day period. Travelers entering Mexico for purposes other than tourism or business or for stays of longer than 180 days require a visa and must carry a valid U.S. passport. U.S. citizens planning to work or live in Mexico should apply for the appropriate Mexican visa.

What about all the other illegals from south sh-t hole.

Ok rest of the states get on the ball and do the same as Az. Then where will the illegals go? Do you think it would keep them out of our country ?

No! No! There are no degrees! Everybody’s a RINO! Nobody’s good enough! There’s no pure virgin candidate!

Well, except this guy over here, who’s never been elected to anything and who’s polling at 2% and who only reacts to newspaper headlines and has given no thought to any issue beyond a 15-second soundbyte.

I suspect you of being a RINO, too.

I am hoping Florida has a Tea Party candidate.

Crist is running as an independent - it will happen. He sucks.

Rubio is pro-amnesty as I suspected. An open-borders Bushie.

Meek is a joke lib Dem.

A Tea Party candidate could win FL as the three stooges split the vote.

When a country is telling you that your citizens are overwhelming their social infrastructure and are no longer welcome, threatening to keep them home is not a very effective scare tactic.

LOL - good point, dead.

So, if Zero goes to Arizona, is a law enforcement officer gonna ask for ID - like a COLB? What kind of ID does POTUS carry?
