WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama suggested Wednesday that a new value-added tax on Americans is still on the table, seeming to show more openness to the idea than his aides have expressed in recent days.
Before deciding what revenue options are best for dealing with the deficit and the economy, Obama said in an interview with CNBC, "I want to get a better picture of what our options are."

They would probably impose it by area code or some other ‘district’ decided by them.
After all, it's only More reparations to even things out.
It is time to re-defeat communism.
How long before Obama declares Himself permanent and elections no longer necessary?
"So I've been a little amused over the last couple of days where people have been having these rallies about taxes. You would think they would be saying thank you."
Not as long as there is one person who is not on the government dole.
BUT, knowing this guy..and his Democrat Socialist ways....he will probably redistribute $$ back to those that he deems "needy".
LOL....Punk! Ha!....Oh he is going to do this...he’s using soft talking now to make it look like he’s pondering and thinking this through...Nope..he’s not. It’s all just to get us ready for it softening up the public and unfortunately many will but it...... No doubt it is coming.
You betcha, he wants to push it through. He’s well on his way to destroying our Republic. November can’t come soon enough.
Fine by me with the following qualifiers:
A constitutional amendment is passed that establishes a VAT and requires that every single cent raised goes to paying off the national debt, paying off - over a period of 15 years and at that time elimiating - all obligations to Social Security, Medicare, Medicade, and whatever new entitlements are in the healthcare bill, and which contains an automatic elimination of the VAT after 15 years and providing that no such similar taxes can be levied nor can the federal government spend more than it takes in for any three year period for any reason other than national defense absent a new constitutional amendment.
In other words - the powers that be have screwed us and we will eventually need to pay. Might as well set up a payment plan now and get the mortgage paid off. At the same time there is absolutely no benefit in giving Congress more of our money until their hands are tied and they can't use for anything other than paying off our debt and closing out programs.
A VAT absent extremely tight restrictions on Congress's spending is nothing more than another way for them to waste our money.
When is the bubble going to burst?
A VAT Tax means that we are DONE!
A VAT tax should result in national strikes of all taxpayers.
FFFFFUUUUUUBBBBOOOOO!!!!!!
From ‘The Coming Economic Earthquake’.....
“So when you see an increase in taxes, (other than the soak the rich tax), you know the politicians are desperate. The more visible the tax, such as the value added tax, the more desperate they are for money. When they dip down into the pockets of the low-income groups through taxes on food, gasoline and medicines...the end is nearing.”
We will not tolerate any new transfer payments to parasites. If they think the hell that broke loose on Amnesty and the socialized medicine was bad wait until we rally the parasites and remind them that they are going to pay!!! Oh my God. and they are so stupid they don’t file tax returns so the wont get their credits. This is not going to happen. We are sick of this . NO MORE MONEY YOU BASTARD$.
A VAT Tax means national poverty as it will truly be impossible to ever enjoy any sense of financial security in this country.
I hate obamna and these socialists communists like no other president in my lifetime.
Hey 0bozo, you dumb ass, why don’t you just CUT SPENDING BY 50%? That would do more to revive the economy than anything!
