WASHINGTON, Ill. (AP) - Sarah Palin criticized President Barack Obama on Saturday for saying America is a military superpower "whether we like it or not," saying she was taken aback by his comment.
"I would hope that our leaders in Washington, D.C., understand we like to be a dominant superpower," the former Alaska governor said. "I don't understand a world view where we have to question whether we like it or not that America is powerful."

PALIN 'NUGGET' FROM a ADN ARTICLE BACK IN 2006:
'Still, no national consultants have been brought in to hone Palin's message or protect her frontrunner status with carefully scripted appearances.
"It's the most remarkable campaign I've ever seen," said Babcock. "She's just running as Sarah Palin and talking about what comes up."

Obama leaves himself open for it once again. For being such a brilliant speaker, he certainly has trouble presenting himself as the leader of this great nation. As he would say “like it or not” he is. And I don’t like it.

Even on this story, the AP Goebelsesque strain shows through.
Look at the headline: “Palin taken aback by Obama...” That is placing her in a shocked subservient position, an LSM fantasy. Disgusting.

After seeing your post I saw this
Sarah Palin packs Five Points. I guess she could be "packing" four point too. Very dangerous woman, if your a liberal.

Hoo-hoo! The title for this story *should* be “Sarah takes barracuda-sized bite out of Barry’s backside”
Man, I love that gal.

America is a military superpower "whether we like it or not,"... When he says "we", he's speaking of himself and his communist and muslim brethren.

There’s a perfect example of how Sarah dances around an assertion, rather than going in for the kill.
Instead of her over-generous “hope” that Obama wants America to be powerful, she should have said: “I hope all Americans will ponder what it means, for an American President to say that we are a superpower, ‘whether we like it or not.’ I hope all Americans will ask themselves, ‘Do I want, as Commander-in-Chief, a President who considers it doubtful that America ought to be a superpower?’”

I have to say I disagree somewhat here. Being a superpower is an expensive burden. Why should we involve ourselves so heavily in domestic disputes in other parts of the world? Why do we keep military bases all over europe and japan? These are rich countries that can defend themselves. If our close allies are attacked, then we should send aid, troops, whatever-—but why should we have part of our paycheck taken every week for the defense of Germany when Germany isn’t at war?
