New poll bad news for Sen. Harry Reid
UPI ^ | April 16, 2010 | UPI

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., facing a tough fight for a new term, trails his chief rival by 10 points, a poll released Friday indicates..

Almost half, 47 percent, of those surveyed by the Mason-Dixon poll said they would vote for former Republican state Chairwoman Sue Lowden, while 37 percent would vote for Reid, The Hill reported. The poll is the first since the Easter-Passover break, which Reid used to travel around Nevada touting his achievements as senator and majority leader.

The poll, done for the Las Vegas Review-Journal, found the Tea Party movement would have little impact on the race. Only 2 percent of those polled said they would pick Scott Ashjian, a Tea Party candidate, while 3 percent would vote for Tim Fasano of the Independent American Party.

Reid, first elected to the Senate in 1986, is seeking a fifth term. He has been majority leader since 2007 and became minority leader in 2005 when Tom Daschle lost an election in South Dakota.

Republicans have targeted Reid, hoping they can oust a second consecutive Democratic leader.

The poll was conducted Tuesday and Wednesday and has a 4 percent margin of error.

No problem, the dems will send out some goons to break Sue’s legs and she won’t be able to run for office. Life is simple when you are a democrat.

“Only 2 percent of those polled said they would pick Scott Ashjian, a Tea Party candidate...”

I think we woud be MUCH better off if we just endorsed candidates and insisted they not call themselves “Tea Party Candidates” or we pull that endorsement. I fear the movement getting highjacked and controlled by a single force (like Dick Armey) instead of the conservative and independant grassroots...

Scott Ashjian, a Tea Party candidate

Self-described Tea Party candidate.

As I understand it, he is NOT endorsed by the TEA Party. He is calling himself that,P advertisements and media cooverage. A court case was filed against him for calling himself that when not a member of the TP, but he won it. Guess the courts said a Dem can call himself anything he wants.

That is just what I have gleaned on the fly. If closer exam proves me wrong, anybody know that has followed closely?

As usual, Reid will see that funds are funneled into the third party candidates coffers to be used to attack 24/7 the Republican. This is one of the big reasons why the nickname of Stinky Pinky is so appropriate....

"Almost half, 47 percent, of those surveyed by the Mason-Dixon poll said they would vote for former Republican state Chairwoman Sue Lowden, while 37 percent would vote for Reid,. . . The poll was conducted Tuesday and Wednesday and has a 4 percent margin of error."

That means 51% probably want Lowden and 33% Reid.

Harry Reid is an extreme putz. He has done NOTHING of political construct; ever.

He needs to be voted out on his azz in an enormously dramatic landslide. Even the mormons can't help his political career now. Who ever voted for that creep in the first place? Nevadians are wise and good people. Boy, did they get hoodwinked by Harry, or what?
