White Plains, NY Tea Party After Action Report!

Posted on 04/15/2010 3:10:05 PM PDT by God luvs America

Nice crowd today, at least 1000+ people in front of Westchester County Center. Last year we may have had 250. The event went three hours from 4PM-7PM and was still going on when I had to leave.

KEYWORDS: teaparty
Nice mixed crowd- seniors, black Americans, lot of latino’s, veterans and people running for congress. Numerous media outlets on hand including See BS (last year there was one). Several good speakers. The theme was to keep the momentum going and Remember in November! Lots of solid signs; Its’ Not About Care- It’s About Control! Sorry Yet? (the –o- using the emblem of chairman zero). Amazing support from people driving by.

About a half dozen sad looking protestors. One sign displayed the complete hypocrisy of the liberals; “Teabaggers are spreading hate every day”….oh, but calling me a teabagger is not hateful???

Westchester Co? Isn’t that where the Clintons live? Good turnout. Congrats.

Yes, you’re right. They live in Chappaqua about 20+ minutes north of the county center where this rally was.

Great report!

The protesters you talked about reminded me of this video by a David Nussbaum:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zsUNnFVMsE&feature=player_embedded

I laughed and laughed the first time I saw it. Then I had to watch it again and again. LOL I love all the different little tea bag string thingys.

It just makes all the media slang and protesters like the ones you saw today with their teabagger signs seem really really silly.

Great report.

I can't tell you how proud I am of my little town in Carmel. There had to be at least 500 people in attendance with Greg Ball leading the chant to 'vote them out in November' each time someone got up to express why they were angry. When the name Schumer, Graham and amnesty were mentioned I was floored to hear many include McCain in the mix when chanting 'vote them out in November'...and then the chant changed to NO MORE RINO'S...vote them all out.

If I didn't recognize most of my neighbors I would have believed I was at a freeper convention.

I was also at the Carmel rally. I have been a lurker here for over 5 years. This is my first post. The News said over 1,200 people. The police had to close route 52. I too am proud of our town of Carmel.

Welcome onboard neighbor. I also read we had 1200 but it didn't appear to be that many. I was so hoping John Hall was in his office to hear what was said and shouted by the crowd. Let's hope he's shown the door asap!

I loved when McCain's name was mentioned in the mix and No More Rino's was chanted by the group I was standing with. It showed people were in touch. I also loved the clever signs, especially the one of Three Stooges.

How long did the rally last? When the politicos began to push agendas we got a little bored, especially the one who linked Sheldon Silver in the Republican party. Good grief!

I was at the Rockland County Tea Party in New City. Also a great crowd. I Tried posting the Journal News article about it however it seems articles from lohud.com can’t be posted. The title “Scores attend Tea Party Protest” was misleading since there were several hundred people there but other than that it was a pretty fair.

John Hall if he was not hiding in his office he heard us loud and clear. Just this morning I got an e-mail from him (Got to keep up with the enemy) and he talked about how he is going to cut taxes and propose a 5% pay cut for congress ,cause it the right thing to do in these hard times. This is a different tune from when I was at his town hall this fall and when asked he said “Now is not the time to cut taxes”. He then started spewing the BS about FDR and the deppresion. I told him we could argue that point all day. So Fellow freepers/TEA partiers we are being heard!!!!!
