Yediot Ahronot: Israeli Air Force suspends plan to attack Lebanon

NOW Lebanon correspondent Amal Shehadeh quoted Wednesday Israeli newspaper Yediot Ahronot as saying that the Israeli Air Force suspended a plan to attack Lebanon.

The attack was planned over the past few weeks following reports that Syria supplied Hezbollah with Scud missiles, said the daily.

It quoted an unnamed Israeli security official as saying he has concerns that Syria might supply Hezbollah with chemical weapons. He added that arms smuggling into Lebanon from Damascus has increased recently.

According to another report allegedly issued by the Israeli security services, Iran is pushing Hezbollah, Syria or the Hamas Movement to launch rockets toward Israel in an attempt to divert attention away from Tehran’s nuclear program.

Like a hard count in foot ball to draw the other team offsides. Only, in this case so they could see what the Lebbies did if they thought an attack was imminent. Or maybe not, impossible to know.

Israel can’t ignore them. It’s a direct massive threat.

Agreed. Countdown to Isaiah 17? I've been expecting this for quite awhile.

The ONLY thing holding Israel back from doing what it needs to do (wipe out HAMAS, HIZBOLLAH, SCUD sites, all rocket factories, etc.) is the U.S. government. You see, Israel must always (unfortunately) be put into precarious “back to the wall” position, (and then some) before she is “allowed” to strike and do what she SHOULD have done years ago. The US and European allies make sure that Israel has to fight her enemies in a “conflict management” position rather than just eliminate them outright. It's sad actually...

Wonder how many more of those will come and go before Iran figures out how to weaponize its enriched uranium

The attack should not be on the Lebanese wasteland, but the Syrian heartland.

Damascus should be crippled. Doing with out electric power for a year or so should change few Syrian minds

Thx for the ping. Little bits of data keep trickling out of there, and it continues to feel like something is up.

From what I’ve seen they’re only about 18 months away from

a warhead,,,

Far better to take out Lebanon and Syria now and clear

that northern flank...

I would consider Syria’s provision of arms to Hezbollah to be an act of war. ...Israel can’t ignore them. It’s a direct massive threat.

It's being compared to the Cuban Missile Crisis on the radio right now.

What does Iran have in its pocket?

Good question. I agree that it’s like the Cuban Missile Crisis too.
