Polish president dies in air crash

A plane carrying Lech Kaczynski, the Polish president, has crashed near Smolensk airport in western Russia, killing all on board, Russian officials have reported.

Polish officials confirmed on Saturday that Kaczynski was on board the flight with his wife, as well as Slawomir Skrzypek, the president of Poland's central bank, Andrzej Kremer, the deputy foreign minister and the army chief of staff.

The crash occurred about 1.5km from Smolensk airport in foggy conditions.

According to the Polish TV - they tried to touch down 4 times, and were advised to fly to another airfield - due to weather condition.

Yes..., it does. Course look at the number of aircraft we send over every time the anointed one ventures out.

I’m still not sure if this was a commercial flight or a government aircraft though.

We should be able to contact Poland’s Embassy in DC to send condolences.

What a horrible year for the Poles, first they are abandoned by Obama placing them at great risk, now their beloved President dies way to early.

Those of us who understand what this administration is doing should show our solidarity with Poland. For today, we are all Polish.

A Presidential plane packed with the latest avionics and electronics along with a hand-picked flight crew crashes at low speed and low altitude in some fog ?!? Its almost reminiscent of Ron Brown's plane flying head-on into the side of a mountain. I wonder if any of the bodies recovered will have perfectly round single holes in the tops of their skulls with what appears to be powder burns just like Ron Brown.

It remains to be asked, who, if anyone would benefit from the deaths of; President Lech Kaczynski, Andrzej Kremer - vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Franciszek Gągor the Chief of Army Staff, Slawomir Skrzypek, the president of Poland's central bank, Aleksander Szczygło - chief of the Office for National Security, Paweł Wypych - presidential Secrtetary of state, Bishop Tadeusz Płoski - Catholic field bishop of the Polish Army ... and the list goes on ... ?

Will there be a military or banking coup d'etat within Poland or is it possible for something more sinister happening from external forces such as Russia or others ?
