Cat nailed to Henry County utility pole dies, rewards issued for killer

The cat found beaten and nailed to a utility pole in rural Henry County, Illinois has died, according to the Dana Miller Veterinary clinic, which was caring for the animal.

A spokesperson said the cat, nicknamed "Dutch" passed away last night.

Dutch was found nailed by one paw to the utility pole near Dutch Bottom road outside the town of Geneseo on Monday.

If this story had been about a choice made between saving a baby and saving a cat you would have a point. Compassion that has limits isn't really compassion is it?

When I was a kid I hated cats, but I now have 2 of the furballs in my apt. For someone to do this to an animal that will give your unconditional love, once they get used to you, is beyond what I can understand. This perp, I cannot call him/her a person, should have exactly the same punishment as that poor cat had.

Yes of course, but I’m raising the issue of priority - more children are being killed than cats!
Just read story about 13 y/o child, forced into ‘marriage’ and died from sex organ being ruptured and she bleed to death in Arab country - that makes me a lot sicker than the tragic fate of a cat!
