Did Obama actually SAY this at the 2008 Dem Convention? Hard to believe..
Posted on 04/04/2010 5:10:39 AM PDT by cycle of discernment
Because if he DID say this ( referencing his speech in 2004), sure does sound like an admission he is saying he isn't from around these USA parts....
Four years ago, I stood before you and told you my story of the brief union between a young man from Kenya and a young woman from Kansas who werent well-off or well-known, but shared a belief that in America, their son could achieve whatever he put his mind to.

I wonder if whoever pulls the strings of Obama has proof of this and that’s how they get him to do their bidding. If 0 goes off the plantation, they release the proof and that keeps him in line.

The only thing I can say here is that I consider myself to have two origins: the region in which I was born (and I have a birth certificate to establish it!) and where my family had roots, and the different region in which I mainly grew up. The Zero could possibly be referring to something like this.

He admitted in public that his father was a British national- thereby disqualifying himself from the office of the Presidency.

The “young man from Kenya” is, I think, a reference to his father. AFAIK, Barack Obama admits to having been born a dual citizen.

His father is from Kenya and his mother is from Kansas. That’s not in dispute. So, what’s your question?

Oh by all means, lets make another excuse for the Usurper. Or let's just go bury our heads in the sand regarding a possible explanation for an ambiguous statement. The question about where I come from is a complex one for me.

As an American citizen (I can prove it) I have the right to know the truth about Barry, Or whatever his real name is. Ditto, and I did not say otherwise.
I'm just saying this statement is too ambiguous to hang anything on. But hey, if some of you want to make the long run with *this*, by all means go for it.
But I'm not with you for reasons stated, and I think you'll only hurt yourselves and this issue.
Just my humble opinion. Your mileage may vary.

Can you point where in the Constitution it defines what a natural born citizen is?

Not at this moment, while I'm here sipping my Sunday morning coffee. I will, however, find the exact section and come back to this thread. It's a real eye opener, because not only is the Prez supposed to be born on American soil, but his parents must also be American citizens- both of them.
And his father clearly wasn't.
Does anyone else here have the Constitutional Article handy?

Can you point where in the Constitution it defines what a natural born citizen is? Can you point to, in your car's owners manual where it defines what a "head on collision" is?
NBC was a commonly known term of art at the time and is well defined as a person born of two American citizens, with no foreign allegiance.

You're missing the point. BO's/BS's father was a British subject as Kenya was a British colony. British law automatically transferred citizenship at birth thereby giving BO/BS British citizenship when he was born. U.S. in 1961 required both parents to be U.S. citizens, along with the child being born on U.S. soil in order for BO/BS to be a natural born citizen.

Then please see the first law passed by the first Congress that defined a Natural Born Citizen - the only law to do so, and one passed by the men who wrote the Constitution - called the
Naturalization Act of 1790 that stated a Natural Born Citizen could be born off of US soil, which is opposite of Vattel, the typical resource used by those that claim Obama is not an NBC.
This has been hashed to death, and the fact remains - there is no settled law - nor Constitutional definition - of what a Natural Born Citizen is. And per the 14th Amendment, birth on US soil makes one a citizen by natural birth - a natural born citizen.

You are like a monkey who reaches through the cage, grabs a banana, and can’t get the banana into the cage because his hand is in a fist. LET GO OF THE BANANA!
While you were off ranting about Obama being a Kenyan (or some other such distraction), he passed the most sweeping government power grab in our nation’s history. But, you guys were all over the lack of a raised seal on his birth certificate. Good job. Maybe in six more years, you and the other Columbo wannabes will find the silver bullet that drives him from office and ends our national nightmare.

U.S. in 1961 required both parents to be U.S. citizens, along with the child being born on U.S. soil in order for BO/BS to be a natural born citizen. Can you share the law or reference that states such? AFAIK, citizenship did NOT require both parents to be citizens, birth on US soil alone was enough. If you were born overseas, either both parents were US citizens OR one was a US citizen with at least 5 years adult residency within the US.
