VAN SUSTEREN: Governor Palin, if you were vice president today, what would you be telling a President McCain about what to do about immigration, if anything?
PALIN: I support his position on immigration. It all comes down to securing the border. And he who has actually proposed some solutions, the Obama administration does not want to listen to Senator McCain or any other Republican, and that, of course, leads to a greater problem that we have in Washington, D.C. And it's that lack of the new administration's ability and enthusiasm for listening to those on the other side of the aisle who have some good solutions that they want considered.

Well, let Glenn Beck get to the bottom of this. HE had a full hour interview of boring puffballs with Palin last time I watched them together.
BTW, Hi Onyx. It is really good to see you back in the fight after your hiatus. ANd I mean that.
She has plenty of time to clarify this. Especially when JD wins and he calls for her support in the election.
I love Rintense's quote from JD, it just puts Rabadash's Rab's nonsense posts to bed for good.
“DEPORT. SEND PACKING. STOP EMPLOYING.”
Onyx, you’re a good person. I don’t understand why you can’t take Palin’s words for what they are. What part of this statement do you see where she supports deportation or workplace enforcement?
PALIN: . We - our policy - John McCain has been so clear with his policy and it makes a lot of sense too. We secure our borders first. But then with a comprehensive approach we must deal humanely with those who are here, and we must allow the steps to be taken to protect the families of those who are here, maybe as illegal immigrants today.....”
Palin: Well, the unfortunate thing of course about the raids is that it does affect the families involved here. Parents and children are separated and thats tragic.
Univision: To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?
Sarah Palin: I do because I understand why people would want to be in America.
Univision: As governor, how do you deal with them? Do you think they all should be deported?
Sarah Palin: There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant - there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants - not only economically is that just an impossibility but thats not a humane way anyway to deal with the issue that we face with illegal immigration.”

Palin is articulate and smart. She should be able to articulate her postion in a few words. You did!
“DEPORT. SEND PACKING. STOP EMPLOYING.”
Yes she does have time. There is no reason that it shouldn’t be clear as day now, but she’s got time.
But I’m not going to sugarcoat it. Anyone who believes in a pathway to citizenship for illegals, no matter who they phrase it, will never get my support.
“And McCains position on securing the border is pathetic. He is against the border fence, which is the ONLY way to secure the border.”
McCain co-authored amnest with chain migration.
The only way McCain would secure the border is with a gun to his head.
Yeah, Glenn will be back next week, (I guess) and since that hour long interview, they have appeared together on the road at a LIVE event, so I hope they’ll have another more serious interview.
(And thank you... I see your nice comments to me in your other posting. We’ve always been good friends and we will have our bets again for 2012)
:)
John McCain does not support amnesty and believes that we should not reward lawbreakers. Any measure designed to fix the broken immigration system must deal with the undocumented population, and as we all know, this is very difficult challenge that attracts a wide range of diverse views and opinions. We need a practical solution for dealing with undocumented immigrants currently living and working in our country and that solution must be carried out in a manner that fosters the social, economic, and security interest of the United States.
People who support Amnesty, like John McCain, use convoluted explanations like this.
This is still Amnesty....because Illegal Aliens are already, by law, subject to deportation. Any deviation of this is Amnesty.
Since Sarah Palin supports John McCain’s position on Illegal Aliens....Palin supports convoluted explanations like this....and this is Amnesty
Have you even considered what the ramifications would be if Palin were actually successful in getting her pro-amnesty, pro-global warming, pro-campaign finance reform candidate re-elected? The fact is that we must hope that the conservative wins despite Palin’s best efforts to defeat him.
I am not a McCain fan but he IS and has been for border fences stating that the are required before any reforms were to take place.
I also think we need to be working more on 2010, and ways to defeat the Obamist agenda or we are cooked long before 2012.
Arguing about Sarah's support for McCain is a distraction, something I think Rabadash relishes in with his support for Ron Paul.
That’s a laughable post, good luck passing that off on anyone.
Honesty is not conducive to effective Astroturfing.
I suspect that if I were to loudly and repeatedly post on FR to the effect that "I support John McCain's immigration policy", I'd be ripped a new one several times a day, and perhaps I'd be banned.
Is it possible that behavior which would cause one's conservative credentials to be questioned here on FR is nevertheless acceptable in a conservative would-be President of the US??
Everything in it is 100% factual. You won’t answer it because you and every other Palin apologist realize that you’ve been duped.
That the most likely explanation of what she meant, given that she also said, No, Im not for amnesty and Illegal aliens are called illegal for a reason.
No, it is not likely at all, in fact it is preposterous.
Okay sure.
Somebody who is against "amnesty" has to be for "amnesty".
Somebody who claims that one who enters the country illegally is not following the rules, has to be claiming the opposite.
Somebody who claims that one who doesnt follow the rules needs to get out, has to be suggesting that the rule breakers should stay.
Got it.
I think Rabs knows that Paul is not going to ever be President. I also think Rabs is for DeMint, despite his soft spot for the grandpa in Texas.
No, he is for “high tech monitoring” which we just wasted billions on with no results. Read his quotes in this piece.
Rabs,
You have, in the past, distorted her positions.
If yourre honest, youll admit it.
Rabs has not distorted Palin’s positions on Amnesty. Palin HERSELF has distorted her positions on Amnesty.
With Palin....its been:
Let the border state governors decide
I am against Total Amnesty
I support McCain’s position on immigration
I support a path to citizenship
I support border security
McCain is the true Tea Party candidate
Palin distorts the positions so much...she needs no one’s help with that
