Palin: Tea Party Leaders Agree with McCain on Big Picture
Fox News ^ | 2010-03-28

(snip)

PALIN: The point here is that Senator McCain and I agree on the big picture, where it is that the country needs to go. There are so many challenges facing America right now, and Senator McCain has been on the right track trying to get the country back on that track that will lead to more prosperity, more security for this nation. We agree on those things that have to take place in order for us to kind of undo some of the things that Obama is doing and get us back on that right track towards prosperity and security.

(snip)

PALIN: Absolutely. And that's why we're making a point to point out that Tea Party leaders are not opposing John McCain. They're supporting his mission, too, and that's to rein in the growth of government. Tea Party -- tea partiers, bottom line, are saying, We're taxed enough already, and that's what John McCain is saying, too.

I'm proud to be part of the Tea Party movement. I'm wearing my Tea Party necklace today, even. I was proud to get to point out Tea Party movement participants in the crowd today. They're here cheering on John McCain because they know, at the end of the day, we're all fighting for the same thing. We're fighting for the future of this great country. So he is part of the Tea Party movement. And yes, they're going to be very impacting. They're going to be impacting for John.

From the recent interview with FoxNews' Greta Van Susteren...

PALIN: "And Greta, can I chime in on that, too? Just coming from a voter, the position that I'm in today, not holding any kind of elected office but as a voter -- you know what we say about bipartisanship in this atmosphere that we see right now in Washington, D.C.?

We don't want our Republican -- our senators and our representatives to hold hands with the Democrats if the Democrats are going to keep growing government. And why - - why engage in bipartisanship there if the Democrats are doing the wrong thing? We want our Republicans to stand tall, stand strong for smaller, smarter government, for those principles that so many independents and those in the Republican Party have believed in all these years. We want them to stick with those principles."

I don’t know if Palin is a rino, except for her misguided admiration of McCain, she comes off pretty solid. She’s either VERY confused, or not what she appears to be. She had no right to state that the Tea Partiers are behind McCain.

Agreed. She paid her dues and we are in a critical crisis at the moment. If she was truly a leader she would be able to be honest and say that she can’t support the person who helped pave the way for the utter mess we are in today.

The buck has to stop somewhere.

“It pains me to read Sarah’s own words on this. Politely paying back a favor is one thing - but this is just not right. She is making an uncomfortable bed that she’s going to have to lay in now. I think this comes from political inexperience - it’s a mistake. Every time she praises McCain - her words will come back to haunt her.”

That’s exactly how I feel. I admire her for her loyalty to McCain for choosing her to be his VP Candidate... but this has gone too far.

McCain is part of the problem, not part of the solution. The sooner he’s in the old-guy’s-home-for-politicians-we-want-to-forget the better off America will be.

I think this is still from Friday night, March 26, when Sarah was in her McCain campaign rally mode. I’d hoped that would be the end of it and she’d stay away from the Juan campaign once she left Arizona.

What she says from now on will determine whether she is establishing her own political identity and issues, or whether she’s just a Juan McCain Republican.

Just thought I’d reprint part of Jim’s post to BobJ. It’s so delightful to read and says everything I want to say.

Exactly. Look at all the hyperbole on here, such as saying Palin is aiding and abetting murders done by the illegals. Good grief.

Romney supporters.

“We all make mistakes, and Sarah is only human, but it doesn’t take much for some people to jump ship, does it?”

Supporting McCain’s vision for America is more then just a little thing.

Endorsement with a wink? That makes it worse because it means, “I will stand here and say things I don’t believe and don’t mean.” This is what leftys do - just SAY something and expect their supporters to know they don’t really mean it. This is business as usual but we are not in usual times any longer and it is time for people to say what they really mean and not “wink” at us or “double speak” or speak merely to be liked or politically correct. TRUTH is the only friend we have left and we better treat it with respect. I grew up with double-speak...such as, “Go ahead and go without me”, “I don’t want a birthday gift” etc. etc. Guilt was used and you were expected to try to discern the “real” desires of the person. Finally, I decided to start taking what people say at face value. If they said they did not want to go to the event, then okay, that was their wish. No babying them, no begging them...just “okay, I respect your wishes.” Eventually they learned to say what they really meant and communications became honest and simple.

She’s not showing leadership in this matter. She doesn’t owe anything to McCain.

You did not mention Mr. Robinson’s succinct summary on John McCain that he posted not too long ago....

“Piss on McCain”

Most FReepers share the same feeling....and, gosh, McCain has peed on conservatives enough.....

I don't support Romney or McCain. Not remotely.

I don't support silly hyperbole either, though.

I’m voting for Palin in the 2012.
She’s the only genuine Conservative in the entire GOP.
Right now she’s stomping for funds, so I’ll forgive her a few politenesses to the RINO pack that is nipping at her heels.

I certainally don't like her palling around with the Amnesty Advocate, that is for sure.

I wish she would have called in sick.

They make themselves look so vitriolic and foolish the more they post. Thread after thread. They’re so scared of Sarah they’re peeing their pants right now and it’s only 2010.

But these threads are never really about McCain, so posting Jim’s comment on him would be pointless.

Sorry, Sarah. I love you but McCain will be back to his “hands across the aisle if he gets re-elected. Hopefully the Arizona voters will put JD in office.
