Palin Wraps McCain in Tea Party Movement

Two years ago, John McCain transformed Sarah Palin overnight from an obscure first-term Alaska governor into a national celebrity when he picked her as his vice presidential running mate.

Now Palin is repaying the favor, putting her prestige on the line in an effort to help the four-term Arizona senator overcome his toughest re-election challenge ever.

The two campaigned together Friday for the first time since they lost the presidential race in 2008.

At the first of two rallies this weekend, Palin pumped up Tea Partiers, invoking the cause of the first Tea Party in 1773.

"Remember it was the Freedom Fighters and those who protested tyranny and big government," she said. "And that's what we're doing today."

"And when you think about that first Tea Party, shoot, some may claim that John was there, at the first Tea Party," she said with a laugh, poking fun at McCain's age. McCain, who is 73, grinned widely beside her.

Are you not able to conceptualize what it says about Sarah Palin’s character that she would relinquish that much personal power for the sake of the people of her state?

That pre-supposes that she had/wanted personal power. THAT doesn't look good to a conservative.

I thought she was a "servant to the people"?

The momentum starting with my questioning whether you were a mole, which you accelerated by rhetorically admitting you are in fact a mole.

I'm building your momentum by admitting I'm a mole! You're not satisfied even why I agree with you! When are you going to hit the abuse button to report my stating Palin supports flaming socialist McAmnesty?

There is no argument against Palin for supporting McCain, because there is no way to make the claim that if Palin hadn’t done this transient little favor for McCain, the attacks against her wouldn’t have been a lot worse.

I challenge anyone to counter this.

Sarah Palin has somehow crafted a name for herself (and made millions) as one who 'goes against the flow' and one who stands up to corruption and the entrenched 'good old boys' GOP establishment, etc as a staunch conservative.

I seem to recall a lot of discussions a few months ago about whether she will become an independent and abandon the GOP because of what it has become. I swear she's said on more than one occasion something about grass-roots efforts to elect conservatives to office, and again, has made a lot of money giving those speeches.

What better way for her to put her rhetoric into action, and show off as one capable of going against the grain, than to stand up to her liberal, RINO former running mate and support an actual conservative running for office?

I don't care that she's keeping her promise to her former running mate.

Of course you don't care Palin supports a flaming socialist. That's the problem!

Why is Ron Paul supporting Korkesh?

I don't need to know beyond he's supporting a traitor. What the h$ll does that have to do with Palin supporting a flaming socialist?

Now hurry up and bash Palin so you don't have to talk about such things.

I'd have no problem talking about Paul's weak and dangerous stance on national defense if this thread was about Paul but it's about Palin stumping for flaming socialist McAmnesty! A fact you don't want to discuss.

Yesterday morning Hayworth’s campaign donations for the month was slight more than $548,000. Since Palin started her campaign tour with McAmnesty this weekend that total has grown to $731,864! LOL!!! Keep talking Sarah and Juan!

Maybe a thank you card to Palin & McCain is in order. A Hallmark!

Your candidate, not mine. I won't support anyone who endorses a flaming socialist.

Sarah Palin has a place in this movement. She just rubbed countless dedicated Conservatives the wrong way when she endorsed McNasty. Especially how she was treated by McNasty and his staff after the election. They threw her under the bus, drove ahead and backed over over her several times.

I wasn't until she had built up her own image later, all by herself, that Ol’Juan McNasty begged her to support his sorry ass now that he has a biggest threat to his Senate seat in his political career. (J.D. Hayworth)

She should have declined and followed her own path. Instead, she made this completely illogical move and alienated half of the base who is staunchly against McCain.

I won't comment on what direction she has taken any further, I have made that quite clear on other threads. What matters is, that this party get it's act together and back a clean, fresh and non controversial candidate. (You also know what I think in that regard.)

Especially when the socialist told people that they had 'nothing to fear from 0bama'...

And a certain percentage of those people were mollified and went on to vote for 0bama, the Communist.

I agree that she has a place there, but hope she stays there too. I’d vote for her if she was nominated, but would not support her at all in the primary.

There are some things I like about her, but living in AK when she was gov- her policies were very ‘moderate’. Juan chose her for a reason.

It will be interesting to see where this all goes. Bammy isn’t too popular, but I think it’d be a mistake to think we’ve got it in the bag because of that.

We don’t need anyone who actively supports a socialist. That’s why we;re in this situation, with a dictator threatening our survival as a nation—because of RINOs like McCain.
