Two years ago, John McCain transformed Sarah Palin overnight from an obscure first-term Alaska governor into a national celebrity when he picked her as his vice presidential running mate.
Now Palin is repaying the favor, putting her prestige on the line in an effort to help the four-term Arizona senator overcome his toughest re-election challenge ever.
The two campaigned together Friday for the first time since they lost the presidential race in 2008.
At the first of two rallies this weekend, Palin pumped up Tea Partiers, invoking the cause of the first Tea Party in 1773.
"Remember it was the Freedom Fighters and those who protested tyranny and big government," she said. "And that's what we're doing today."
"And when you think about that first Tea Party, shoot, some may claim that John was there, at the first Tea Party," she said with a laugh, poking fun at McCain's age. McCain, who is 73, grinned widely beside her.

Beyond interesting. it will be tragic.
Not good.
Any dirt on Bachmann or Ryan?
You have, on this thread alone, called other freepers cowards, liars, accused them of making false claims of service, called them teabaggers (by which we know that you mean a particularly vile gay insult).
You are the worst of what washes up here every so often. And your act diminishes any support for SP. But, as I wrote earlier, I believe that this is your not so hidden agenda.
She’s on facebook.
Odd isn’t it? I don’t feel betrayed by Palin because she ran with McCain. She has never said she disliked or disagreed with him.
Unrealistic expectations lead to this.
LOL, that's great.
Or, perhaps another way of putting it, he became an ace for the North Vietnamese air force. Just one more reason McCrazy is so comfortable with communism.
LOL You are quite mad.
Are Russell Kirk, C.S.Lewis, and James Burnham OBAMABOTS too?
LOL!
I can’t imagine what 2012 is going to be like if it’s this contentious now.
I would agree with you about a better choice of candidates.
I like Rubio, Cantor and even Pence. Some kneejerkers claim Pence is a RINO, but I have heard him speak. I don't see that in him.
Both Rubio and Cantor are clean, fresh are intelligent speakers and carry our message with honor. This is where I believe we need to take this party. Forget all the worn out, failure ridden, tarnished candidates from the past.
What we need is a completely fresh start with Conservatives who appeal to even the moderate/independents, without castigating Conservative principles.
No, everyone ridiculed you for being a semi-literate n00b
whining for respect on a forum where you had earned none.
And the word is "their". THEIR credentials.
I think the cart is literally in front of the horse on this. We are trying to hang on in 2010.
Sitting back on this awhile would be a good thing. Letting things play out, watching other potentials emerge.
If you remember 2008 was horrid too.
It is just a little early because we have no field of candidates to discuss. LOL
CHuckle, Chuckle......
Yes. Its on my profile page.
I forgot about Rubio. He is a promising possibility. I don’t know Cantor, but I will read up on him.
“Some kneejerkers claim Pence is a RINO, but I have heard him speak. I don’t see that in him.”
It might be more people with long memories than knee-jerkers. Near the end of the 2006 amnesty debate, Pence came forward with a plan to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Not sure what he’s had to say about amnesty for illegals recently:

Quite a few want some real clarification of Pence’s position on that issue, and I guess we’ll get it if amnesty is reintroduced soon as expected.
Last warning - knock it off
I was taking a break from the Religion forum. It seems I’ve stepped from the frying pan into the fire. :)
You do realize that even JD Haworth, himself, endorsed McCain for President?
DeMint wholeheartedly supported Romney when there were other conservatives in the Presidential race.
All endorsements aren't equal. Way to shift your standards to support your agenda.
Speaking of immigration, you do know Tancredo endorsed Romney, right?
Oh, please do. Cantor is a keeper and a leader!
