DURHAM, N.C. Uninsured Triangle residents said Monday that they eagerly await the overhaul of the nation's health care system. "It's just going to be like Christmas," said DeCarlo Flythe, who lost health coverage for his family when he was laid off almost three years ago. "It's going to be great. You know, no worries (about) the bills. We are going to go ahead and pay our co-pay and be alright."

I’s be gettin’ mah piece o’ da PIE!!!!
“Obama Money!”
We had a lab that lived to be 15. He was at the end of his life and felt bad more than he felt good. We talked about putting him down, but everytime we did he perked up just a bit. The joke was “Buck is acting like a 10 year old...He knows we were talking.”
Jokes aside, we we truly struggling with this decision. I was talking to a vet who gave me a wonderful peice of advice. “Ask yourself if you would rather put him down 2 weeks too early or 2 weeks to late.” It put everything into perspective.
I called my vet and made the appointment for the next day. Dogs have a way of protecting us from more than physical danger...I got home from work and Buck was in his bed breathing but unresponsive. The decision was no longer ours.
These people are all showing up starting today. No need for "reliance on hypertechnical statutory language". We gettin' ours. TODAY.
When they DON'T get it, guess whose fault it will be?
That's right - those wascally Wepublicans, conspiring to frustrate Obama at every turn!
Better not vote for THEM in November!
Were I better at such things, I’d photoshop Zero’s ugly mug onto the Zimbabwe 100 trillion dollar bill.
The MSM wouldn’t ever report such a thing,
but I hope the doctors’ offices, nurses, and receptionists will -
people showing up demanding free treatment under 0bamacare.
And the free high speed internet!!!
Losing a pet is one of the toughest things in the world. My prayers are with you.
Prayers to you and your family.
Not surprised at all. We need to document and publicize these changes. The patient may be thrilled, but that is the same thrill one gets at a casino when you win a little jackpot. At the end of the night, most people have lost. Eventually, this insurance company will have to stop issuing individual policies to prevent this type of abuse. In this guy’s case, his glee may be short lived because we will have to see the rule as to exactly when the pre-existing exclusion will become illegal. By then, this company may just stop selling or even shut down that sector or its operations
Now that they broke it, they own it.
OK yes, I thought that’s what it meant. And yes. I remember being able to go to the Dr. for $15 back in the early 1980s. Then it seems that when the whole HMO thing started the office visits began to creep up. People are stupid if they think that the average person is a very good consumer of something that is free or underpriced. No one, NO ONE should see a doctor for free. Otherwise, what is the incentive to NOT over use it? Liberals are the most naive people who were ever born.
Yes, I’m sorry, I was trying to be short and to the point. I think the real answer would have been to get govt the heck out of health care, make healthcare savings plans more attractive (let people accrue for a zillion years if they want to, why on earth do you have to use it up by the end of the year??) portability of insurance across state lines and catastrophic insurance rather than what the most common types are now. No one goes broke because they have to go see the doctor a couple of times a year, they go broke when they get cancer or some other catastrophic health issue.
Health insurance as we have it today is not really insurance at all.
LOL isnt’ that the proof that they are either idiots or hate us all?
Exactly. How can we elect you?
Apparently the average American citizen has zero logic skills.
You know, I don’t believe I ever had a formal economics class, didn’t have to in college and don’t think it was taught in high school. However, this stuff seems so logical. But you’re probably right, most people also believe what they want, what fits their little world view. If it doesn’t fit, they just toss it out because if they thought hard about it, they might have to change their world view.
That also makes me wonder, what is the definition of a child for the pre-existing condition clause?
I gotta say, I’ve had the same sort of thoughts this week. God is really testing my ability to love my neighbor.
Actually, I think it will end up being *free* because once this is in place, those folks will raise a ruckus and elect people who make the system free and universal. Just watch.
