Texas Republican Rep. Randy Neugebauer was the mysterious lawmaker that shouted baby killer during Rep. Bart Stupaks (D-Mich.) floor speech Sunday night, his office said Monday.
Rumors that Neugebauer was the yeller began swirling Sunday night, after several lawmaker surmised that the scream was tinted with a southern accent.
Last night was the climax of weeks and months of debate on a health care bill that my constituents fear and do not support, Neugebauer said in a news release. In the heat and emotion of the debate, I exclaimed the phrase its a baby killer in reference to the agreement reached by the Democratic leadership. While I remain heartbroken over the passage of this bill and the tragic consequences it will have for the unborn, I deeply regret that my actions were mistakenly interpreted as a direct reference to Congressman Stupak himself.

I called his office and thanked him for speaking the truth.
Said I was sorry he apologized for speaking the truth.
“Stupak did not make abortion legal for heavens sakes”
Who said he did?
“what he asked for was a bill that made sure the taxpayers did not pay for ELECTIVE abortions”
And when he didn’t get it, he signed on anyway.
I wish he just said, "Yeah, I said it. What of it"
This is what he needed to do:
[Sheridan practices his apology to the Centauri government before a mirror.]
Sheridan: I apologize. I’m
sorry. [sighs] I’m sorry we had to defend ourselves against an unwarranted attack. I’m sorry that your crew was stupid enough to fire on a station filled with a quarter million civilians, including your own people. And I’m sorry I waited as long as I did before I blew them all straight to hell! [pauses] As with everything else, it’s the thought that counts.
“I’m sorry that the baby killers who voted to use federal funding to kill more babies were offended that I called them baby killers, but I’m sure all of the future and past dead babies would agree with me that I should fight this baby killing legislation.”
That’s how I would apologize....
>> what he asked for was a bill that made sure the taxpayers did not pay for ELECTIVE abortions
And when he didnt get it, he signed on anyway. <<
He got his 700,000 pieces of silver.
“after several lawmaker surmised that the scream was tinted with a southern accent.”
Only someone not from the South or Texas would confuse the two.
“This reminds me of the scene in “Stalag 17” when Animal threw the Ocarina at the Commandant, and splashed him. When the Commandant demanded the thrower to step forward. The whole barracks stepped forward. Don’t expect that kind of unity here!
Texas Republican Rep. Randy Neugebauer has balls but doesn’t need to apologize to any one. I don’t believe God will condemn him.
Why the hell does everybody apologize, just admit you did it and say “I meant what I said”
He got what he could. Who objects to him not wanting to pay for elective abortions? I have always objected to paying for anyone’s elective abortions. I am a woman. If I got pregnant, and it was an unwanted pregnancy..I would not have an abortion for one thing...also...if someone did have an unwanted pregnancy...who in the heck would think they were entitled to tax payers paying for it? It just blows my mind that anyone would think they were entitled to taxpayers money to pay for an unwanted abortion. How arrogant and ignorant is that?
He should have called him a lying, deceitful, back-stabbing, greedy, baby killer.
“I’m Randy Neugebauer”
just doesn’t have the same ring as
“I’m Spartacus”
If you don't understand why people are upset with Stupak you have NOT been paying attention.
I beg to differ. I have spent the weekend listening. To all of those involved. And it was not easy to listen to most of it. It made my hair hurt.
He should have said: “I’ll apologize when Present Obortion and his henchmen apologize to the Supreme Court justices for their disgustingly rude, 3rd world junta like conduct!”
What makes you think Stupak acted correctly then?
Just sent him a note of support.
“I am Spartacus!”
