On Thursday evening my husband and I made the decision to drive to Washington D.C. to be part of the "Kill the Bill" protest on the Capitol lawn.
We had been a part of the 9-12 DC Tea Party, having been part of the Tea Party movement since it's beginning, and have a vested interest in making sure this monstrosity doesn't pass (it is pending as I type this).
We drove to DC Friday evening and drove back Saturday, not able to stay for the entire event because of church responsibilities Sunday morning, but we were thrilled to be a part of this huge gathering of American citizens, and I hope these photos give a feel for what we were about, and how powerful a voice "We the People" have.
As the protest developed and our loud voice was heard, we were told by Michelle Bachmann and others in Congress that our being there indeed was having an effect on what was going on inside the Capitol building in front of us. (The Slaughter of the Constitution went down while we were there).
We broke up to go into the Congressional office buildings and "visited" the wavering Congressmen (we spent most of our time at John Boccieri's office).
If the bill passes, you can be assured that our fight is not over. We must win this battle, and if they succeed in passing this destructive, unconstitutional bill, we will fight to have it overturned.
These are a few of my photos of the event. May God bless and have mercy on America!
Michelle is such a gutsy lady! She almost makes me want to move back to Minnesota..............but not really. ;)
She was a great encouragement yesterday, and told us about a worship service they were having in the Capitol Statuary Hall this morning.
I'm sure these leaders are praying for wisdom. We really do need to pray for them all!
Well .. I heard estimates of 35,000 for yesterday .. and I thought it appeared to be a lot larger than that.
And .. it doesn’t look like that big a crowd today; sorry.
But .. I’m not there .. so the media could be distorting the views to try to say there are less people there.
I assume there were less today since lots of people could only come for a day.
But I heard NBC said 2,000, so maybe we're all wrong, eh? ;)
Amen, we certainly DO need to pray. Our country truly IS in
God’s capable and mighty hands now. He will hear our voices
and our passion and we pray that He will have compassion on
America and all in it...including the unborn whose very lives have been
bargained away for a “mess of porriage”...the health-care boondoggle.
Great Pics!!
Was just listening to Stupidak cave to his
Democrat Party.
The Republicans are firm in saying NO to BomaCare
The really sad people on FR are the PaulBots who were hoping
a Republcan would cave so they can keep up their mantra,
Republican and Democrats are the same.
This is just one more example, REPUBLICANS are standing firm
against ObamaCare
God is not mocked.
We really do need to be in fervent prayer in the coming days, months and years.
Thank you for the ping, as I did want to see the photos.
When we were in the Congressional office building we stopped in to see our Congressman, Jim Jordan (who was in his office). He's been leading the pro-life fight and we just wanted to thank him.
They are making us proud!
You’re most welcome!
Thanks for your efforts. Great pics.
We are praying, praying, praying today.
I love your photos!
I love your sign!
I love that MrOhio told off Weiner! LOL/
I love that you attended!
God bless you and your husband and all who were there for us!
I cry for our Republic.
PRAY and fight on!
Ohio, GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND!!! My husband, too, wanted to drive there but my teenage nephew is staying with us this week and we had to get him back and forth to school....blah, blah, blah.....excuses is why we have the government we now have. I’ve never been so ashamed of our government.
I pray American citizens remember this travesty in November.
You’re welcome. And thank you!
Love the pictures! Thanks for the ping. How large would you say the crowd was?
......forgot to say...thank you for the wonderful pics. You and all who were in D.C. fighting for our country are genuine patriots.
God is a just God, and we need to be on our knees CONSTANTLY for this nation. We are the remnant, and we must hold up each others' arms as we pray.
PRAY AND FIGHT ON!! AMEN!!!
MrOH just ran off when he saw the little weasel and started yelling at him. I missed the whole thing, but we was PROUD of himself. :)
Well .. I’d believe Freepers any day over NBC!!
Even though there seemed be be less today .. to me it didn’t look like that much less .. more like 25000-30000.
There are a whole lot of Congressmen who are going to be jobless in November. And Pelosi will be dethroned.
(And thank you and you're welcome. We were honored to be able to be there!)
