“the mandatory purchase of health insurance is un-constitutionality, does that throw out the whole thing? or just that part of it?”
Likely that it will only make that part null, but, without that in, the whole theory collapses
Academic question: why is it that when the reps have a decent majority, they never try to pull crap like this but always try the “statesmanly” approach.
I will support ANY candidate who says he/she will go to the Hill and ram EVERYTHING through that will preserve the American peoples’ freedom...
*sigh*
“Who’s a bigger dummy: Pelosi for trotting that out, or any idiot who buys it?”
Right. If it’s 215, 216, or 217, does anyone believe that they won’t ALL be targeted, even PelosLIE herself?
Just vote NO.
“my sentiments exactly. By sunset on the west coast today I figure we will have witnessed the end of the great America experiment and we might as well joint the EU.”
But first we will join the UN... or is it the other way areound?
“I send my condolences to all seniors who are going to meet earlier than needed death beds (and I am in that group who have outlived my economic reason for being here).”
And take our knowledge of the real history of the US and elsewhere with us ... giving them a free hand to do a massive rewrite.
Tom Foley (fmr Speaker of the House) was tossed out in 1994 as was George Mitchell (Majority Leader- Senate). It can and will be done. Pelosi and Reid both gone.
Wow, I would have walked out.
I agree completely. The only miniscule speck of anything "positive" that I can see about what is happening now is that it has firmly convinced me that I can no longer sit around on my backside of self-interest with my head half buried in a bucket of sand. I am ashamed on how passive I have become and how it takes a calamity of this magnitude to awaken me. But now that it has happened I will never fall asleep again, I trust that you, and hopefully millions of other citizens, are all in about the same place.
Well said. Me, too. My anger and frustration are matched by grief. I mourn the death of my Country.
I have never been to that parish. I asked him what the others did. He couldn’t answer me because he sat in the back row and he left right after the last blessing. He’s since told me that the message was definitely one that the Republicans should not judge the democrats for their actions. Dear God.
I said this morning that I felt like I was sitting in intensive care waiting for the country to die this evening.

Good points all. And many of us are.
Still praying for God to have mercy on us and shut this thing down!
I went to another church in my neighborhood once and the priest ended by urging us all to go see Algore’s movie. I would have walked out only Mass was over.
I must admit I have spent quite a bit of time on my knees this morning, head bent in prayer.
Tar and feathers?, no. FLAMING TAR AND FEATHERS !
Good vs. evil.
I hope that you are right. I am too frazzled and brain-dead at this point to do any analysis of something like that. I am having a hard time trying to gather my wits to go to the market for a few things.
SNORT.
Exactly. Perfect metaphor.
