An attempt late Friday by Rep. Bart Stupak, a pro-life Michigan Democrat, to change abortion language in President Obamas health care bill riled pro-choice lawmakers who vowed not to allow the revision.
The move by Stupak, who holds a crucial bloc of Democratic votes that if released would clear the way for the health bill, threw Capitol Hill into confusion late Friday, less than two days before the House is set to vote on the landmark legislation.
Stupak, leaving the Capitol, said that House Speaker Nancy Pelosis willingness to talk to him about his idea shows Democrats dont have the votes, or they wouldnt be talking to me, he said in an interview with The Hills Molly Hooper.

Was Santorum optimistic or pessimistic?

In spite of all his constant anger... I wouldn’t underestimate Levin, because he has a sharp mind and will fully take advantage of any opening.

This whole business reminds me of the time (also during the easter week) where Jesus went up on trial and Pilate didn’t want to have to deal with him. Pilate’s wife couldn’t sleep due to a dream/vision and sent him a message about setting Jesus free. What did Pilate do? He CAVED in! People without consciences WILL CAVE UNDER PRESSURE...I build my hope on nothing less than Jesus’ Blood and Righteousness (It’s an old hymn!)On Christ the SOLID ROCK I STAND - ALL other ground is sinking sand, all other ground is sinking sand!

After listening to him on WJR many times, the abortion funding is the only thing he doesn’t like.

He's very optimistic...he's saying it's not over even if it's over. He says that even if Nancy goes to the floor without the votes and gets them, those who voted YES will be ripped to shreds when they go home. And then there are the states who will fight this thing. He was very positive...I like Rick.
Off topic, another journo in DC was explaining to Bill Hemmer this morning that even if it passes, it will have to go back to the Senate and the Repubs can tie it up and it will take forever for it to really pass. Bill was ecstatic to hear that--like he was given some hope.
Stupak up now!

He said all it would take were TWO votes to sink it and he sounded very positive that it wasn’t over yet.

I cant believe our entire future resides on this schmuck Stupak. I am watching him now on Greta, the only issue he has with the bill is the abortion issue, is he nuts, the ENTIRE bill is crap
To: Sarah Barracuda
Did he just say—well, if they need my vote, sure? What a schmuck, I just turned him off.

Stupak is a jerk. All of his complaining about abortion funding yet he will vote for a bill that will ration care to babies and pregnant mothers. He is not sincere.

I like Levin, I bought his book "Liberty & Tyranny, and it is very good.
In fact his book should be a must read for every high schooler. He explains it all perfectly as to how we got to this point, and so true.
I remember my dad always saying how he hated FDR for the things he did. My dad was right.
To: Sarah Barracuda
So why is he holding a press conference tomorrow...just tell Greta your BIG NEWS. Like Rush says—politics is show biz for the ugly. They all want to be center stage.

Pretty simple - if Stupak stays firm, we win. If not, we lose.
I read one report that if Pelosi acquiesces to Stupak then 40-50 pro abortion Reps will drop their support for the bill. Pelosi is in a bind.

Beware folks.
