An attempt late Friday by Rep. Bart Stupak, a pro-life Michigan Democrat, to change abortion language in President Obamas health care bill riled pro-choice lawmakers who vowed not to allow the revision.
The move by Stupak, who holds a crucial bloc of Democratic votes that if released would clear the way for the health bill, threw Capitol Hill into confusion late Friday, less than two days before the House is set to vote on the landmark legislation.
Stupak, leaving the Capitol, said that House Speaker Nancy Pelosis willingness to talk to him about his idea shows Democrats dont have the votes, or they wouldnt be talking to me, he said in an interview with The Hills Molly Hooper.

We need to pray for Stupak’s group more than ever the next couple of days. These guys have been under so much stress than anyone.
They are doing the right thing for “life”
See an ad that stands up for “life” and will run in some specific districts this weekend:

Earlier today.....(Fri) Tsk Tsk things are boiling!
“Pelosi spoke on the floor with Stupak for 10 minutes immediately before ......
a GROUP OF PRO-ABORTION RIGHTS DEMOCRATES “angrily surrounded”....
Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.), and then headed into the Speakers office just off the House floor.”
Stupak, if he’s serious, can seriously help to prevent the killing of millions of babies by preventing tax payer funded abortions.
I’ve been praying that Stupak makes the right choice.
I hope not. and practically speaking , it has made him a power in the House. He has played his hand very well despite the pressure.
Stupak has an 80% record on voting “liberal” but he stands up for the “life” of an unborn baby.
I will be praying for this group.
Regardless of what they think in Washington, God is still in control.
I, for one, have been doing just that. His staff was grateful for the show of appreciation. I called his Michigan district offices. Being a daughter of Michigan, it was an easy call, made from the heart. When I heard how he'd been getting threats and his family was being harassed, I let his staff know that this was never, never acceptable.
I did the same with Rep. Lynch when he called out Queen Nancy on the ugly politics. These guys are taking a lot of heat from their party, and should be supported.
The DC and state-level office personnel are taking a huge volume of calls, and yet I have yet to find a single one who was less than courteous and patient with my calls. I find that interesting. Perhaps there is less support for this monstrosity within even the House office personnel than one might think. Keep it up folks, we're having an impact on America.
I beleive there will be some surprise “no” votes.
Pelosi can’t flog all of them all of the time.
Praying for Stupak and the other pro-life Dems that they don't cave.
This all theater. These creeps are not Americans they are despicable decietful enemies of the American people.
Yes, he’s got a press conf. in the morning. I believe he is prepared to confirm his opposition.
Well, since everything I want to do to them is either illegal or biologically impossible, the Lord is probably our best shot.
Pray for an epic fail. No political party in our country’s history deserves it more.
Watch Baird, Kosmas, McMahon,Murphy and Tanner. They voted against the first time.
Wouldn’t it be so fabulous is everyone keeps voting NO and Nancy freaks out on the House floor and has to be taken away in a straight jacket? Well, that’s my dream anyway.
Excellent! Well done. I just hope it reaches at least one of those in Congress who may take the message to heart.
Anything that Stupak does to gum up the works is good.
1. Let’s say he makes a deal with Pelosi. She will lose pro-abortion leftists and the bill will fail.
2. Alternatively, the GOP could help Stupak get his amendment attached to the bill. If it is held hostage from Obama, his provision gets struck by the Senate in reconciliation.
3. After that, the modified bill would come back to the House where the GOP votes could ensure it will fail.
The bottom line - this will all take time, days and weeks.
If we can get House members home for Easter, we can kill this monstrosity.
Let Stupak create as much confusion and delay as he likes.
