A KENTUCKY cook put his five-week-old son in the oven overnight while he went to bed, CNN reported. Larry Long, 33, had been smoking marijuana at the restaurant where he works before returning home to share a fifth of whiskey with the baby’s mother, Brandy Hatton, McCracken County Sheriff Jon Hayden said.
High and drunk, he put the baby in the oven - which he left switched off and slightly ajar - and went to bed.
It wasn’t until he woke at 5.30am (local time) to hear the baby’s cries coming from the oven that he realised what he had done.
Mr Long immediately called emergency and a mental health crisis line, who then alerted authorities.
"He actually called a mental health crisis line immediately thereafter and told them that he had done this. And they contacted us," Sheriff Hayden said.

You’re all missing the point.
This was a job-related mental illness. He was a COOK, you remember? Day-in, day-out, year-in, year out, putting things in the oven - what did you expect?
He should be now collecting disability or workers comp or something, and the government should pay to re-train him to go into another field.

Pot =100% safe, no side effects whatsoever. It’s impossible that the pot had anything to do with this. Well, the whiskey maybe. But NOT the pot.

What about the fifth of whiskey? The guy was smoking dope at work but he got dead drunk later at home and went to bed drunk. Sounds to me like this has more to do with booze than pot.
