Obama softly threatens Dennis Kucinich
WaPo ^ | March 15, 2010 | Stephen Stromberg

President Obama just finished enthralling a crowd in Ohio in one of the last acts (one hopes) of his push to pass health-care reform. Rolling up his shirtsleeves, Obama began his speech with a little public arm-twisting, calling out a few of the local notables assembled; and way up at the top of his list was Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D), in whose district Obama was speaking.

Kookcinich will fold like professional origami.

The only reason he's invited the discourse is to gain media recognition.

He knows he's Obama's butt boy.

Kucinich is a left wing looney dwarf, but he’s not one to be pushed around or intimidated by anyone. He’s a true believer. Kucinich is one of those who would rather fight than switch. Gotta admire that quality in him.

Kucinich has been around a long time. Whether he folds or not, he’s not going to like it.

He’s an absolute leftist, and this Chicago thug garbage isn’t going to go down well with him.

Go to Rep. Kucinich's website and leave him a note...tell him the majority of the voters in the US are with him as long as his vote is a loud NO!!.

Go ahead...it's easy!

I strongly dislike Kucinich's political direction. I will give him a little credit though. He is very forthright about what he believes and will say why. For that, I respect him.

It will be interesting to see if he caves to Obama. I am fairly convinced he can win the democratic party nomination again in his district, and Obama's visit will hopefully have the opposite effect it intended. For once, I am actually rooting in favor of Kucinich's position. LOL!

Agreed. The guy (Kucinich) is a kook in many ways, but he won’t cave if he has made up his mind.

For some reason, I have Roberta Flack’s voice in my head: “Threaten me softly with his words, threaten me softly, with his words...”

Although I disagree with Dennis Kucinich on almost everything, I have a tremendous amount of respect for the guy. I seriously doubt he will cave unless he gets what he wants in the bill.

I wish we had more Republicans with the fortitude of Kucinich.

Is every Democrat such a wimp that they allow themselves to get bullied and called out by this thug wannabe? I hope Dennis mans up, but seriously, I’d be ticked off if I were a Dem and they pulled this crap on me.

And the ones who are willing to vote yes on healthcare, are you so dim that you can’t see that next time around you may not be so willing to go with the Moron in Chief and you will be treated this way as well?

I also find it so ironic how Obama was perceived as “above the fray” during the campaign to become such a dick since being sworn in.

I live near his district. He sticks to his guns. I don’t agree with a lot of the things he stands for, but he is not the kind of guy that can be bought. He generally looks out for his constituency and this is why he gets reelected again, and again.

So let me get this straight - Big Ears goes to a district which he has no problems that the people there support him ...but the Representative from that district opposes HC. What advantage is this to sway the issue in Big Ears favor?
