In Team America: World Police, the first Hollywood-financed movie inspired by the U.S. invasion of Iraq and its attendant political controversy, South Park's Trey Parker and Matt Stone dispatched a squad of U.S. guerrillas all in marionette form to take down an Axis of Evil dictator and, in the process, slaughter the real villains of the piece: a bunch of self-important celebrities who had publicly opposed the U.S. policy. One of these stars is Matt Damon, who is portrayed as such an idiot that all his dialogue consists of is his grinning stupidly while saying, "Matt Damon!" The puppet Damon ends up dead, his head snapped by a Team America hero.
The real Matt Damon didn't fare much better as the star of the new Green Zone: he went looking for the truth about Iraq's WMDs, and got blown up by the IED of public indifference.

Green Zone first week returns of $14.5 Million on an investment of $230 Million.
Gotta love it!
I completely stopped going to movies several years ago. Don’t miss it a bit.
But I love that this propaganda hit piece bombed.
I enjoyed Alice.
I’m glad it whooped that POS Damon and his POS movie.
Good. I hope they all go bankrupt while nobody listens to their “message”.
..of course, they’ll just expect a guhmit handout when that happens.

Matt Damon sucks.
Go Alice!
“One of these stars is Matt Damon, who is portrayed as such an idiot that all his dialogue consists of is his grinning stupidly while saying, “Matt Damon!” The puppet Damon ends up dead, his head snapped by a Team America hero. “
To be fair, the reason this was, was because the puppet came out very bad and so they just ran with the appearance.
Just for the sake of truthfulness.
How many ‘Air Americas’ do these lefties need to create before it finally sinks in that is doesn’t sell.
The "fairness doctrine" will be expanded to cover movies....
Maybe Pelosi can cram a government takeover of Holllywood into the health care reconciliation bill...
ObamaStudios! For the Children!
Um, no. But thanks for playing.
If the public were indifferent, Damon's movie would have fared considerably better. Be certain, the public is not indifferent.
With the exception of Avatar, anti-American films don't do well. Were Avatar anything less than a 3D motion capture/computer animation extravaganza, I'd dare say it would have done about as well as Ferngully. I only know of two folks (libs) who have actually seen it.

“They fought the war, and the war won.”
UH Huh. Universal may end up on the financial cutting floor if they keep backing dogs. (apologies to dogs everywhere)
Wow, they are in the tank for 200 mil. Yikes.
Ah, if only Damon had invested a considerable amount of his own fortune in making the movie. That would be even sweeter.
BTW, on an (almost) completely unrelated note, a remake to the 80’s action classic “Red Dawn” is scheduled to come out this summer. I’m wondering how much of the film’s politics will be Damon-esque this time around?
OT - I heard Tom Hanks' ignorant comments about WWII on Laura Ingraham's show this morning and they come across even worse that they did in print since you can hear the snidely superior tone in his voice. IMDB lists quite a few products involving Hanks coming up this year and next which I sincerely hope flop big time. He is definitely on my permanent sh!t list.
Betcha the plot will be right wing generals pull a coup and the wolverines will be the brave progressive force that is trying to get "their" country back.
Maybe the right-wing cabal can be backed by Michigan-Militia types, NRA members and armed Tea Partiers... The Wolverines can repel them with water balloons!
i have overheard some of these Hollywood writers recently, trust me THEY DON’T GET IT.
