I’m sure it must be obvious, but I don’t get it...why does the Dept. of Ed. need shotguns? In fact, why do we need a Dept. of Ed.?

Maybe they intend to do the right thing by offing themselves, for NCLB.

...the only shotguns authorized for ED based on compatibility with ED existing shotgun inventory, certified armor and combat training... Combat training? I don't remember that course in high school. Hmm, college did have a "rifle marksmanship" course which was fun...
Seriously, why do ED personnel need combat training?

Must be they need them to train on school board members who refuse to submit to union contract demands.

So!! the department of education has a combat element? Why?
Did the FBI pick up rumors of a dangerous insurgency by third graders?

I’d like to think that they’re going to build trap ranges, but...you know. This is really weird. The Dept. of Education was created by Jimmy Carter as a campaign promise to the teachers union for supporting his presidential campaign. In doing so, Carter in effect gave the hyper-left NEA a cabinet post, and total control over public education in our country. We’re reaping that harvest now.

If one were to look past the obvious silliness of the headline I would assume that the weapons are for building security in D.C. Of course Duncan could be planning a trip back to Chicago. That alone would justify the purchase.
