WASHINGTON, D.C. - There's more talk on Capitol Hill about requiring all U.S. citizens to carry a worker ID card before getting a job. It's part of a major overhaul of immigration policy, and the plan could go before President Obama as soon as this week.
All U.S. citizens would be required to carry an ID cards according to this plan. It's meant to keep companies from hiring illegal immigrants. No matter where you apply for a job, under the plan, you would have to have a card carrying bio-metric information on a microchip. It's like your fingerpints, or a scan of the veins in your hands.
The ID cards would basically prove you are who you say you are, and that you are a legal citizen of the United States. The program is being pushed in the U.S. Senate by Democrat Chuck Schumer (D- New York), and Republican Lindsay Graham (R- South Carolina).
Unlike the optional E-verify system that some companies use, this would be mandatory for all companies to use.
It's drawing some criticism from privacy advocates, who say this moving toward a national ID card, giving the government too much power to track you. Sen. Graham says it's simply a way to keep companies and employees honest.
"What I want to make sure is when an employer is presented with a social security card, you can easily verify that it is real and genuine and the person presenting the card is who they say they are. If we will do that one thing, it will make it very hard to hire illegals," said Sen. Graham.

I think the idea is for American citizens to be forced to carry an identification card until they pass amnesty for the illegals. THEN everyone will be required to carry one so the government cam keep tabs on where we are, what we are buying, where we are working, how we are voting, and on and on.

Won’t happen as long as Obama is President because he wouldn’t qualify for one.
I think Der Leader needs to be the first to comply and lead by example by providing proof of HIS legal US citizenship; and further, prove that he is mentally competent to fulfill the responsibilities of the position which he holds.
US citizens and all the former illeglals who want to work will have to have the card. If you want to work under the table or ply the drug trade, you won’t need the card. You also won’t need it to get public benefits either.
Next comes “comrade”.

Except that they won’t ever get around to the ID system.
Look at DHS’s record in carrying out previous congressional technology mandates of this sort: the "virtual" fence, the "no fly" list, the scanning of incoming freight, the system that allows Border Patrol stations to communicate with each other, access FBI databases and identify criminals, I could go on, but you get my drift. None of it is ever done effectively. They spend billions and it doesn’t work.
Those who, quite reasonably, fear this ID plan can take comfort in how extremely unlikely it is to ever be established as advertised. It is just one more lie they are willing to tell in order to get their amnesty plan passed. Better to focus on what they are actually trying to do rather that what they say they are trying to do. Does anyone really believe Chuck Schumer and take him at his word?

I think this is the amnesty card.
Those here, even illegals, will be given the card. No questions asked.
It’s like the drivers licenses for illegals, which dems in CA keep pushing for. Only reason it’s not law yet, is the state governor is allegedly a Republican.
This will be the amnesty vehicle, right here. This “worker card”. Notice it doesn’t say “worker eligibility card”, it says “worker id card”.
Now Dang It! Nancy Grahmnesty doesn't want the details spread far and wide! Otherwise the peasants might revolt.
