Physicist Discovers How to Teleport Energy
tech ^ | ebruary 03, 2010 | tech review

First, they teleported photons, then atoms and ions. Now one physicist has worked out how to do it with energy, a technique that has profound implications for the future of physics.

Probably need two just to make sure one is running.

I guess the doors got lost in the teleport.

So put a transporter close to the sun and teleport us some energy back here.

I’ve got a better idea. How about we put one in DC and another on Uranus.

He gives the example of a string of entangled ions oscillating back and forth in an electric field trap, a bit like Newton's balls.

WTF?!!

Again, the scientists in the white coats make use of the vacuum and just pull it out of nowhere.

This is to remind everyone that we don't need time machines, or teleporters ~ we actually live inside these things already.

The only things we need that are missing are the controls!

Ummm, not to appear antsy on this, but aren't photons, atoms, and ions the embodiment of energy?

re: they teleported photons, then atoms and ions.

How about teleporting Pelosium and Reidium?

FYI:

Heaviest Element Yet Known to Science Discovered

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California has now identified with certainty the heaviest element known to science.

The new element, Pelosium (PL), has one neutron, 25 assistant neutrons, 88 deputy neutrons, and 198 assistant deputy neutrons, giving it an atomic mass of 312.

These 312 particles are held together by forces called morons, which are surrounded by vast quantities of lepton-like particles called peons.

Pelosium is inert, and has no charge and no magnetism. Nevertheless, it can be detected because it impedes every reaction with which it comes into contact. A tiny amount of Pelosium can cause a reaction that would normally take less than a second, to take from 4 days to 4 years to complete.

Pelosium has a normal half-life of 2 years. It does not decay, but instead undergoes a biennial reorganization in which a portion of the assistant neutrons and deputy neutrons exchange places.

Pelosium mass will increase over time, since each reorganization will promote many morons to become isodopes.

This characteristic of moron promotion leads some scientists to believe that Pelosium is formed whenever morons reach a critical concentration. This hypothetical quantity is referred to as critical morass.

When catalyzed with money, Pelosium becomes Reidium, an element that radiates just as much energy as Pelosium since it has half as many peons but twice as many morons.

This is pure hype. The “strange quantum phenomenon” of entanglement, is pure original orthodox Quantum Mechanics, what Heisenberg called “quantum kinematics” that is, it is a property of the way the theory is formulated. As such, the implications are very general and very clear. This experiment, as interesting as it may be, is the result of chasing these implications into little corners, like mice, and catching one. In the everyday world, these mice are running around in herds, but everyone is bored with them.

Thank you. Being a science type, I read that and totally missed the humor.

BTW. Thanks for hosting the Atlas Shrugged book club. I loved it.

It's amazing that we are here, and have discovered that knowledge is infinite.

How is this possible ?

We seemed to be wired for such curiosity that there will be no end to our quest for truth and understanding.

Why ?

Add to this the fact that we are able to make these discovery's.

Is it human nature to seek truth ?

Why ?

We seemed to be drawn to this in all aspects of every body’s life.

Why ?

Science and religion are not so far apart.

That may be the funniest line ever in a science article.
