Surely there must be an issue based reason in that race not just race?

In better news that douche Kinky Friedman lost the rat primary for AG Commissioner.

After the defeat of Victor Carrillo for Railroad Commissioner, why do you think fellow Commissioner Michael Williams could win a Senate open election?

Do all RR Commissioners look alike to you?

Michael Williams is more accomplished and a better politician than Carrillo. But it would be a tough race against a higher profile (& rich) heavyweight like Dewhurst.

Is it possible that a Democrat could defeat Porter in November?

I don’t think the average TX voter knows one railroad commissioner from another and does not take the office seriously.

One would hope Hutch would resign and Perry would appoint Williams and give him a leg up.

Dewhurst would be tough.

Beck had heard that Medina was a 9/11 truther so he asked. She did a very poor job of denying and left the impression she thought the US govt may have been behind the attacks...”Legitimate questions”

I certainly agree with you that one day a real leader will emerge, but it just wasn’t today.

I regret my vote in 92. I was suckered into the Perot show. I won’t do that again.

But, I hope what you say will happen at some point. I’ll be there with you.

Delasandro is drawing 5%. Guess he had no preference between McIntyre and Curnock for the runoff, cuz he coulda thrown his support to one of them.

I hope he supports Flores in the primary from my perspective. Flores is raising big money.

The problem with that is, if she does Perry picks the replacement. And if Perry meets the strong arm of the law, the new senator may look bad by association.

I would GUESS that Carrillo took the race somewhat lightly and didn’t put in enough legwork over the last 6 years keeping his profile up and building ties statewide. He was not well known when he was appointed, and then won his first election in a runoff. Perhaps he did not work to consolidate his standing. Even so....

Medina will not concede tonight. What a pain in the patootie she is.

Like a parasite she won't go away. Says it isn't over yet. Doesn't she know she doesn't have to concede? Doesn't matter what happens, it's over for her. The race was between KBH and Perry anyway.

Carson county.....

Kay Bailey Hutchison REP 120 44.94% 120 44.94%
Debra Medina REP 129 48.31% 129 48.31%
Rick Perry - Incumbent REP 18 6.74% 18 6.74%

Well, this is certainly curious. Medina have friends or family in the central panhandle area? Or did Perry's driver run over somebody's bluetick hound? There's gotta be a good explanation.
