I’m confused about the new common-sense conservative values these days.
Are we supposed to support this, or oppose it? Used to be we’d laugh at this and oppose it vigorously, but in the post-Palin conservative world, I’m not sure anymore.

My tagline: Now banned in Massachusetts!

So, if you’ve got a classic Hot Rod, and you want it to start easily, you’ll have to “developmentally challenge” your ignition?

In the post-Palin world, it is socially unacceptable - not illegal, but socially unacceptable - to call a Down’s Syndrome child “f**king retarded”.
I think most of us are OK, and have always been OK with this restriction on our freedoms.
To: pissant
Friends of the intellectually disabled are pushing to ban the word "retard" in Massachusetts. Oh, my.
"Retard" is a verb. It means to slow down or ease back. For example, one can "retard" the throttle setting on an engine.
Yes, it has its insulting use as a noun, but trying to BAN a WORD is as self-insulting as it is unconstitutional.

While they are at it, they can try to repeal the 1st Amendment.

I was always taught that the word “retard” was inserted into our state motto right around 1969.
To: agere_contra
Actually Rahm called liberal senators “F**king retarded”. That is what the complaint was about.
