but never in front of his family

Doesn't he know they can smell it on his breath, even with mouthwash?

occasionally "slips up" and has a cigarette, but never in front of his family.

If you smoke, you smell like cigarettes, period. Smokers never think they smell like cigarettes. Besides, he's out and about without family plenty. He prolly smokes on AF1. You really think anyone is going to tell him to put it out anytime he lights up? heh

Brain replacement therapy to follow.

How many proctologists do you think that'd take?

I think 0bama really needs couples therapy with Larry Sinclair. The incessant smoking is just a symptom of this star crossed relationship that was strangled in its infancy by Bigfoot The First Wookie. There's been hell to pay ever since Larry laughed at her party dresses that are better described as costumes

It says on the *nicotine replacement* box, not to smoke while using this product.

Congratulations! It will be a year smoke-free on March 29th. The best thing I’ve done for myself.

Obama using nicotine replacement therapy

As a replacement for what? Competence? Common sense? Humility? Extemporaneous speaking ability?

Those are all areas in which he is severely lacking, but I don't see how nicotine use can help him improve?

What a weakling - when I quite smoking in January 1989 I just quit - I didn’t use any crutch; didn’t gradually tapper off; didn’t employ any type of an excuse. I just quit - cold turkey.

Good luck to you Mr. President, but I don’t know why he does not try Chantix. Many people I know who smoked, do not anymore because of it.

‘Otherwise, Kuhlman noted that Obama is ...”fit for duty” ...’

Fit for duty as what? Maybe a lawn ornament.

I have been told first hand from LEO’s that people under 50 (after the SG warning started getting printed on packs) that smoke tend to use other drugs.

Pretty much every person I know of under 50 (and some that are over 50) that smokes is either a pot head/coke head/pill popper or alcoholic.

I quit 2 years ago by setting down the pack of half smoked cigs and that half pack is still sitting alongside the computer!

[…]

That's exactly how I quit.

Interesting: Same here! I had a stomach flu in 2004 that was so bad that I didn’t want to smoke for a day (that means it was very, very, very bad!). After another day, I thought: “Hey, good opportunity to quit!” So I did. I left a half-open pack lying on the living room table, for months, without touching it. Eventually I tossed it. I keep thinking that letting it there on the table was a great help. It’s like saying: “Do you want to quit? Then you should be able to do it with a half-open pack lying around. Because if you can’t resist that, you do not really want to quit after all, so why bother.”

I never touched a cigarette again. I still miss smoking sometimes, but I am very confident that I will never start again. Walking behind a smoker on the sidewalk is as much joy as I am going to allow myself ;-).
