LAKE JACKSON, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Congressman Ron Paul today endorsed Adam Kokesh, Republican candidate for Congress in New Mexico’s third district.

“As a fellow Veteran, Adam understands the many challenges facing our brave men and women in Uniform and the steps we must take to strengthen our national defense.”

Said Dr. Paul, “Adam Kokesh has been a tremendous supporter of mine. Now, it is time for me to support him.

“As a fellow Veteran, Adam understands the many challenges facing our brave men and women in Uniform and the steps we must take to strengthen our national defense.

“Adam Kokesh has dedicated his life to fighting for Liberty. He has set himself apart as one of the bold young leaders our Country sorely needs as we strive to restore our Freedoms and what has made America the greatest nation in history. I am very happy that Adam has decided to run for Congress and wholeheartedly endorse him.”

For more information on Adam Kokesh, please visit www.KokeshforCongress.com.

Congressman Paul’s endorsement comes through his Liberty PAC, a Republican leadership PAC committed to supporting Liberty minded candidates across the country.

Said Liberty PAC director Jesse Benton, “Adam Kokesh is a terrific candidate who is going to ask tough questions like: ‘Why is Ben Lujan voting to run up crushing budget deficits?’, ‘Why has he allowed President Obama to expand the war in Afghanistan?’, and, ‘Will Ben Lujan stand up for the rights of his constituents and work to reform the Patriot Act?’ The constituents of New Mexico’s 3rd district deserve answers to these questions. Adam Kokesh will hold Mr. Lujan accountable.”

Then why do you welcome libertarians to your Tea Parties?

Unless there is more than one RaceBannon, you posted a Tea Party report yesterday that talked about the “pretty libertarian ladies” in attendance.

I don’t think Ron Paul can be viewed apart from libertarianism any more than jihad can be viewed apart from islam.

The only reason I have pointed out libertarian associations is that the increase in libertarian posting on FR has been dramatic during the past year. They are almost always at Tea Parties, and yes they carry “End the Fed” signs, sell the Ron Paul book, the whole bit. “End the Fed” supposedly has to do with cutting govt spending, I don’t know, but it sounds an awful lot like wanting to dissolve the union (the USA).

In addition, I think there is a real possibility of libertarians pushing the Tea Party activists into a 3rd party. I don’t see this as being good for our Nation.

Not all Libertarians are neo-hippies although the code pinko wing of the Libertarians would like to make their entire party tie died and hemp wearing hippie scum.

Actually, there is a gap between the Libertarian party and Ron Paul, although it is inside baseball knowledge. One of the reasons I suspect why Paul and his pals like Lew Rockwell aren’t welcome in the party machine. Look up the 1988 fund-raising scandal that revolved around his campaign.

I’m sorry but the fuzzy thinking doesn’t work for me. Libertarians believe in minimal expenditure for defense, and in isolationism. It’s in their platform. It is contrary to the tenets of the United States Constitution. Need I go on? I don’t see any separation between R. Paul and libertarians except matter of degree and public exposure which the former is good at. Libertarians need to stand on their own within their own party, their own organizations rather than sneaking into and infiltrating Republican clubs and Tea Parties, which I thought were for patriotic conservatives.

3rd Congressional District race

It was a little surprising to see Democratic incumbent Ben Ray Luján vulnerable in this race. This is a safely Democratic district, but the Public Policy Polling survey showed Luján up only six points over one of two Republicans vying for the right to take him on in November and eight points over the other.

In addition, it showed that he had the approval of 31 percent of those surveyed, while 40 percent said they disapprove and 29 percent said they were not sure.

One of the Republicans fighting for the right to take on Luján in November, Adam Kokesh, has the backing of the Ron Paul army. The energy and passion of that movement has been aimed at tearing down Luján – and while the poll gives no indication that it’s succeeding in building a significant level of support for Kokesh, at least yet, maybe it is succeeding in tearing down Luján.

Or, more likely, seeing Lujan wins.

That's the truth. They much prefer a liberal Democrat to a Republican any day of the week. If this liberal Republican were to get the GOP nomination, it would be a disaster if he were elected. He would probably vote for Pelosi because he would have nothing in common with Republicans. If he doesn't get the nomination, then he will work with the Democrat to take out the Republican. That's how the Paul people work who I have seen in action.

You have it pegged. I knew that was happening out here in OK and TX but now with your report it means the same thing is going on in Ohio which I had heard rumors about.

Keep us posted on what is happening.

The Paul bots are taking full advantage of people’s discontent. The better informed we all, the better we can counteract this.
