It would be one time that folks in the private sector could/would/should turn around and invest back into rebuild efforts. Depression if the governments try to do it. Most of them will be or are already broke.

I am babbling right now like a fool...waiting for the chain call to come in from family that they are aware of what’s happening in their area. I am sure the base has been activated by now and the call will be coming in, in a few hours that his wife and kids are fine and out of harms way.

This is not what I wanted to wake up to this morning.

The scientist from the tsunami museum was saying they had a 6 inch wave at Easter Island and a 35-40ft. wave at Hilo in the 1960’s.

His point was that wave size in one place doesn't indicate wave size for elsewhere around the ocean.

Thank you, but I am sure they will be fine. I am probably more freaked out watching this happen from Ohio than they are in Hi.

Per CNN interview with earthquake center guy- 15 ft waves are expected to hit Hawaii..the bays will be hit harder than the ocean sides.

He sounds extremely sober.

The 1960 quake in Chile sent wave to Hilo Hawaii that killed 60 people. Hawaii warning siren will start to sound at 6 a.m. Hawaii time.

Woman being interviewed now about what she went through in Hilo then. Came in two waves. First sent inches of water into her yard then went away. Second wave brought five feet of water into her yard and they escaped up into the hills.

At least now they have a better warning system.

It is a good link to listen too. I am locked on it as well.

They sound very concerned and nervous.
