Glenn Beck tonight: "I contend that most people are libertarian"
02/26/2010

Posted on 02/26/2010 2:51:42 PM PST by Brugmansian

Beck just said he thinks "I contend that most Americans are libertarians because they want that freedom . . ."

So why don't they vote that way Glenn? Why do we have abortion laws? Why aren't drugs legal? Why do voters reject gay marriage? Why do we have laws regulating banks? Why has every proposal to privatize Social Security much less abolish it been rejected? Why do we have "entangling" foreign relationships? Why do we have trade and immigration laws?

Of course he is. Unless you believe liberals really are more liberal than conservatives.

Ho boy.

Did anyone notice how the Libertarians pretty uniformly didn’t want to invade even Afghanistan with Osama laughing from his cave?

He’s wrong, there are far more conservatives than libertarians. A lot of us have some libertarian leanings, but most understand that pure libertarianism is half the way to the insanity of liberalism.

IMHO, this guy is very close to a complete breakdown. I know a lot of people warship him, but I think he is only in it for the money. He would put his own mother on the blackboard, sob like a baby and tease it for a month if he thought it would get him ratings. He sure had no problem shilling for GM as they were sticking it to the American tax payer. Flame on!

Glenn Beck’s weeping leaves me cold.

it is fraudulent.

I do however like where much of his politics lie and if it works on fence sitters, then so much the better.

Glen thinks there is no difference between Republicans and Democrats. Did he watch the Health Care summit? Who voted for Cap and Trade and who didn't. Who voted for the Health Care Bill and who didn't. If you can't see the difference your pretty Stupid.

As a rule, I avoid Beck—I find all the gestures and funny faces juvenile—not to mention distracting.

At any rate, I happened to catch a second of his show today and he started the I-used-to-be-an-alcoholic tale.

I’ve heard it before, but I’m just curious...does he dredge that story up on every single show?

Bill Bennett was right. Beck projects his weaknesses onto his viewers, as if his problems were/are everyone’s problems.

It is not. You are probably more Libertarian than you think. You have been hung up on the Federal Government enforcing Social Policies best left up to the Church and individual citizens. The good cop bad cop routine has been sucking us in for years. It is none of the Federal Governments Biz!

I might be a libertarian if it were not for this:
(When the baby gets to be part of the “conscientious consideration", we will talk.)

1.4 Abortion

Recognizing that abortion is a sensitive issue and that people can hold good-faith views on all sides, we believe that government should be kept out of the matter, leaving the question to each person for their conscientious consideration.
