Agreed.
While I would have preferred them to break furniture and tossed dems out of the windows, they did a very reasonable job. ;>)
I wonder how much make up shep wears off the air.
Thank gawd Cavuto is on now.
FWIW, check this out...
Summary: Senator Conrad, the Chairman of the Senate Budget Committee said yesterday that reconciliation can only be used if the House passes the Senate bill first. As Sen. Conrad declared, I dont know of any way, I dont know of any way where you can have a reconciliation bill pass before the bill that it is meant to reconcile passes. Neither do I.
Then, the kicker: When reminded that House Democrats dont want to do health care in that order, Conrad said bluntly: Fine, then its dead.
Now, the Speaker finds herself in the position of having to pass a bill she says she does not have the votes to pass.
Without passing the Senate bill she cant pass, the Speaker cant do reconciliation.
Now Obama is preaching to him.
I hope DOCTOR Barrasso is allowed to reply.
If they are working for a small business they can’t get health care?
LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE!!!
That's exactly right! The Pubbies have said that the issues at hand and they could come to some reasonable agreements in a step-by-step start over fashion. But they also state that this bill is too expensive and, even worse, more intrusive. But in the end the Pubbies were quietly forceful, well informed and courteous and thus took out the wind in the sails of reconciliation. Because if the line by the Dems and the MSM and pundits is that there are issues that both parties agree to then this meeting shot down a haphazard, forceful and arrogant use of reconciliation.
For dinner?
Probably wine. Maybe some cheese.
I just heard Durbin and it was a cheesy whine.....
Those big ears of 0bama’s don’t work. Pointless.
Wow that might be a Second City TV type version of the summit. I could go for that.
O:
They woRK
every day
[he needs his echo chamber background to sound better]
They tried to ram the original bill “in a snap” first time ‘round. Wasn’t until they realized they didn’t have the votes did things slow down.
This time they only need 51 votes.
Sounds like today’s meeting is just for show, a charade designed to elicit the soundbites needed to justify ramming it through.
Methinks this meeting wouldn’t be happening, at least like this, if there weren’t 51 votes and a bill ready to go.
You haven’t actually SEEN his proposal, have you? AFAIK nobody has.
They learn.
I’d bet on full passage & signed in 1 week flat.
How many of those people making 40 grand a year and don’t have health care, have the newest car or big screen tv set?
Then, the kicker: When reminded that House Democrats dont want to do health care in that order, Conrad said bluntly: Fine, then its dead.
They tried that and Dems didnt want to (IIRC there was a bill or something weeks ago).
I remember Shep from the bridge during Katrina, he should there for days with the camera focused on the flood. Then one day a sub showed up and filmed they were standing on a completely dry bridge that led across the river.
And all the while he knew people could just walk out of the Football stadium.
After that I turn the a—hole off when he shows up. Same with Whore-raldo
