“We believe we have to decrease our use of energy to allow headroom for the developing nations to grow their economies”
Any idea what this clown thinks he’s trying to say?

U.S. energy secretary Steven Chu said Wednesday that the U.S. must decrease its energy use to allow developing nations the room to grow, So Americans need to scale back their lifestyles so that others can live large.
The GOP should be able to ride this one statement to victory in 2012.

U.S. energy secretary Steven Chu said Wednesday that the U.S. must decrease its energy use to allow developing nations the room to growGood. I propose that all energy to his home and office be cut off, and all of his vehicles deactivated.

chu is just another nut.
ozero told us that we would know who is by the people he surrounds himself with.
He doesn’t have one person near him that has any sense.

Is there one rational person in this administration? I cannot think of any.

“There is no law of physics that says prosperity is proportional to carbon emissions,”
No, but there is a law of economics that says that prosperity is proportional to available energy.
What a clown.

Chu is a control freak and full of it. Only someone in government would truly believe this nonsense.

We are going to add 130 million more people in the next 40 years, 75% due to immigration. How are we going to decrease our use of energy?

"There is no law of physics that says prosperity is proportional to carbon emissions," Chu said.
Well no, there isn't. There's a pretty clear economic correlation, however, and prosperity is based on economic considerations, not compliance with the laws of physics. There's also no law of physics that says we can't build hundreds of nuclear reactors to take care of our nation's energy needs far into the future with minimal carbon emission - why exactly do we need to curb our energy usage?
To: thackney
Chu serves as an example that you can win a Nobel Prize(in a very esoteric area) and still be dumb as a box of rocks. Anyone who knew Linus Pauling could have told you that.
