A lingering technical question about the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks still haunts some, and it has political implications: How did 200,000 tons of steel disintegrate and drop in 11 seconds? A thousand architects and engineers want to know, and are calling on Congress to order a new investigation into the destruction of the Twin Towers and Building 7 at the World Trade Center.

Since lakeprincess only posts Jennifer Harper articles from the wash times and never comments, I would say Jennifer Harper appears to bee lakeprincess.

Ok ok, I did it. Didn't you design the "Magic Bullett" too? ... and here I always thought Kennedy and the Tx Gov were just positioned 6 inches off of perfect posture.
Man, I am really impressed! ... also, "Where are you holding Anastasia?"

Regarding the fireproofing, recall that leftwing activists and attorneys stopped the use of asbestos containing insulation about halfway through construction. If you ask me, they’re to blame for the collapse.

This has been answered in minute, scientific detail already. The only people still pushing the 9/11 conspiracy fantasy is a bunch of loopy tin-foilers and unstable kooks.

Yeah, there must be a conspiracy!
Remember the famed metallurgist, Rosie O’Donnell, telling us that fire can’t melt steel. It’s never happened before in history!

I watched the whole thing on TV. It took took longer than 11 seconds for the buildings to come down. There was enough time for the structures to collapse. This is silly.
As I was watching it, I remembered the 1962 attempt to bomb the World Trade Building (underground truck bomb), and I said aloud, “they are going to bring down the World Trade buildings.” I didn’t know WHO they were, but instantly I connected the two as being done by the same group.

the truther crap has been utterly destroyed by structural engineers, physics professors, architects, and assorted other sane people. give it a rest.

It is amazing that those steel girders grow in nature because if we had to make them we certainly couldn’t use fire to refine Iron....

It appears that a lot of newer buildings are built that way and would likely collapse in very much the same way. Fortunately we don’t have passenger jets flying into them all the time for us to test the theory.
The Sears tower in Chicago is a notable exception due to its unique design.

A thousand architects and engineers want to know Perhaps this pitiful little army of George Costanzas could direct their questions to the hundreds of thousands of real architects and engineers who actually understand thermodynamics.

As with logic, the basic laws of physics are lost on those determined to prove themselves right and the world wrong.
