The only thing I ask is NO Mess Sargent jokes. I ran mess halls preparing a half a million meals in the Army Guard and Reserve and no one ever claimed to have gotten sick.
And I probably ATE that many meals at Marine Corps chow halls...
So how many got sick without CLAIMING it? Enquiring minds want to know!!! :^}
Half a million meals? Wow. Congrats. (But maybe they didn't complain so the next meal would be safe, too... (ducking and running) ;0)

I never had any complaints about the mess halls during my stint in the army; and I appreciated the effort the mess staffs went to in order to try and make holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas special.
Nope, taste like sh*t but no one ever got sick. Actually my son tells me he eats like a king. Even in the middle of Bumphuc Egypt, they have good grub.
Prayers for all of our folks wherever they are...

The dead never complain... Sorry, I couldn’t resist :>)

No jokes here, but you of all people know the challenge of making sure procedures are followed to prevent bacterial food poisoning. The cruise industry seems to have to relearn these procedures every few years. As to intentional food poisoning, it would be interesting to see what these fellows were supposed to have used (heavy metal, organic toxins such as pesticides etc.)
I’m sure the military already knows what was used. Interesting that it isn’t done more often as even water supplies are definitely a vector of attacks per Al Qaida. Surprising that food hasn’t been touched upon to a great extent.
KC, no jokes from me.
I’ll bet you fed them all well.
This report, however, is quite distressing. But, as Gen. Casey would say, people may die, but it would be much worse if our diversity in the military was damaged.
Did you ever think that it may have been because they all died before they reached the complaint desk? [smile]
Our old mess Sargent's taste buds had been shot off in the War
But his savory collations add to our esprit de corps
To think of all the marvelous ways
They're using plastics nowadays!
It makes a fella proud to be a Soldier!
LOL...my husband used to tell me that you never make the mess sergeant or the supply sergeant mad!
“I ran mess halls preparing a half a million meals in the Army Guard and Reserve and no one ever claimed to have gotten sick. “
That’s because it’s hard to complain while throwing up.
JUST KIDDING! You guys do a hell of a job, you really do.
Daddy said the reason they had mess halls was to make guys look forward to combat. :)
The food I had back in 1975/76 under the CO of the 2/1 Cav was really damn good chow, no sh** !!
I won’t complain about mess sergeants, but I can tell you that the civilian contractors we had in the mess hall at West Point put me in the hospital twice.
