“Sarah was used by McCain in the election and now he is using her again”

I agree, but it’s really a case of them BOTH USING EACH OTHER.

If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck and acts like a duck ... it’s a duck. :)

Stupid to you, but historically accurate.

Since it's not the subject of the thread, I'm not going to explain it here, but if you ever want to understand what happened, I'll be glad to explain it to you some time.

Now, what is your response to the rest of my post, lest we hijack this thread about Sarah Palin?

“I simply DO NOT want a repeat of a compromising RINO George W Bush presidency. That’s what got us Obama and Senate and Congress controlled by Democrats. A false sheep will always lead you astray.”

Neither do I. I read Palin’s book. The salient thing I took away from it is that her entire history in Alaska, from the City Council to the Mayor’s Office to the Oil and Gas Commission Chairmanship to the Governor’s office is one of whacking away at government bloating and corruption adn the old boy networks that sustain it. She is no “go along to get along” type, much less than even Reagan was. She is not endorsing McCain to gain any political advantage (obviously) nor “to go along to get along”(which would be contrary to her entire history up to this time, but because she believes it is the RIGHT thing, the morally correct, thing for her, as a person, to do. She lives by that Code, and it is rare for a politician. that is why I really like her.

Well, I don’t know what you mean about carrying the GOP piss bucket unless you’re somehow referring to yourself.

I’ll ‘splain it to you one more time.

A Republican has a good chance of getting rid of the Obamination in 2012. A Republican. The best, most conservative we can find would be great, and I hope the party will give some thought to whatever happened that landed us with McCain last time.

However, a Republican, with a 3rd party purist running against him will split the conservative vote, have no chance of winning and give us 4 years of a person who is 1/4 of the way to totally ruining our country.

Rush has spoken millions of words against Rinos, if you listen you’d know that. He wants to replace them with conservatives, but he’s smart enough to know you don’t go third party.

I hope you know that too.

then Sarah should have stayed out of the race .

Having her endorse amnesty makes no sense, she is a conservative and she endorses a RINO over a conservative

anyone make sense of that.

Amnesty is using Brown and Sarah because of their popularity and then he will ditch them like he ditched Sarah after the election.

That is another reason why she should walk away form this

no matter who spins this or how they spin this it does not make sense

I seem to remember Rush supporting Specter over Toomey, too. IIRC, it was because he didn’t think Toomey had a snowball’s chance in hell of winning in Pennsylvania at the time, and Specter had a better chance of keeping that seat in the R column. This was mainly because of the narrow margin between R’s and D’s in the Senate at the time, and if Specter won, he would help keep the Senate in the R column, even if Specter was a RINO.

But I may be wrong. Anyone else remember exactly what he said?

It’s all tied together in the same debate. Will we just accept our next candidate because the status quo wants us to, or will we put our thinking caps on and critically examine this time what is going on with the candidates (supposedly) on our side?

I want to vote for a TRUE CONSERVATIVE. No more compromise.

I know McCain isn't conservative.

That is entirely beside the point I was making about Sarah Palin.

Is your higher principle to get rid of traitors by nominating a person of strong conservative principles like Palin, or is your higher goal to maintain your own version of political purity?

If you want to win a national election as a conservative, it has to be as a conservative Republican. You can whine and grouse all you want, but that's reality, and that's what we have to live with.

To get rid of Obama, we need to find and elect a CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN.

Sarah Palin MAY be that person.

Excuse me, I only delude myself when I think I look young and cute.

You’ve lumped Rush in with other talk radio folks. I don’t know what they did but Rush definitely did not endorse or push anyone in the primary.

In fact, he was criticized by that here on Free Republic.

“Freepers were wrong about George W. Bush being a conservative”

I think most of us from JR on down knew Bush was not very conservative and was definitely an elitist. it came down to not being able to swallow an Al Gore presidency.

Palin IS a conservative and She is not an elitist. I am as sure as I can be about that.

He said he wasn't worried about Palin's endorsement and he understood why she came out for McCain.

If JD wins the primary, I'm willing to bet that Palin will campaign for him in the general election. I'm also confident that JD will support McCain in the general election if McCain wins the primary.

all the census has to do is generate a few thousand fake names and homes and then “move them” to a ghost town and PRESTO, you have a district with no people but many voters.

I'll second that, altura.

I listened, and Rush endorsed NO one. He didn't like any of the candidates (just like the majority of us conservative Republicans).

He said over and over again, "We have no leader."

“I think what you’re really saying is: someone with principles, followed by a parenthetical . . as long as they agree with MY principles.”

LOL! YOu may want to use te word, parenthetical in proper context instead of perverting it to fit YOUR thrill of Palin endorsing McPain. Unlike YOU, I would NEVER endorse someone whose principles do NOT match my own when there are other better choices to endorse.

“And on that, you are free to either endorse or reject her decission. “

I deeply touched that I have YOUR royal permission to reject Palin’s decision. Your delusions of grandure seem to have no end. Regardless of YOUR approval or not, I don NOT endorse McPain for anything. McPain is part of the problem. McPain never met a principle he could not compromise on.

“It’s about choices, to with which SP has made her own. And quite possibly not for the reasons you believe. Rush is absolutly correct on this, IMO.”

It’s not about “belief”. It’s about the reasons of COMPROMISE on PRINCIPLES that I dislike with Palin endorsing a RINO. Rush is aboslutely WRONG on this. McPain needs to be voted out and people like Palin need to do some soul searching, even if she is a Populist.

Do YOURSELF a favor, doesn’t speak for others. SPeak for yourself and use words in proper context otherwise people like myself will throw them back in your face.

BTW ->

Wurzelbacher touched on several different points during his speech, and many of them were surprising. He said he doesn’t support Sarah Palin anymore. Why? Because she’s backing John McCain’s re-election effort. “John McCain is no public servant,” he told the room, calling the 2008 Republican nominee a career politician.

Wuzelbacher was in Berks County for a rally in support of Republican State Rep. candidate Sam Rohrer, who he says is Pro-Gun and Pro-Tea Party.

http://libertarianrepublican.blogspot.com/2010/02/sarah-palin-joe-plumber-splitsville.html

It’s not the first time Sarah tip toed away from endorsing a REAL conservative. Hoffman was a CONSERVATIVE; not a RINO or a Populist and Sarah was MIA, as usual

Flash back:

...

This is a time for choosing, Mrs. Palin. A battle rages in upstate New York. Doug Hoffman needs help. And people are praying.

http://rsmccain.blogspot.com/2009/10/ny23-update-why-is-sarah-mia.html

Yeah, McPain is in deep trouble with his CONSTANT and CONSISTENT RINO policies and COMPROMISES. So he’s backtracking. It won’t last when he is back in the saddle again. McPain is brain dead. He doesn’t get it. McPain will say whatever he has to say and if he should win, God forbid, he’s go right back to business as usual as the great compromiser on principles. For McPain this is as natural as breathing.

McCain Gets a Primary Challenger
Posted by Jay Newton-Small Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 5:24 pm

...

McCain, though, isn’t taking any chances. Not only has he tracked to the RIGHT, his campaign wasted no time in going negative. From a campaign statement:

Mr. Hayworth was the largest recipient of campaign contributions tied to the corrupt lobbyist Jack Abramoff. Mr. Hayworth today promised to serve only two terms if elected, but he made — and broke — a similar pledge when he first ran for Congress, so why would anyone believe him now? The fact is, the people of Arizona rejected Mr. Hayworth’s ‘undistinguished’ record when they resoundingly voted him out of his solidly Republican U.S. House seat in 2006.

Still, McCain must be looking forward to help from his former running mate - Sarah Palin has pledged to campaign for him — as most Tea Party activists I’ve spoken to say they plan on supporting Hayworth. Hayworth, in his announcement, billed himself as the true conservative in the race. Thus far, though, McCain seems to be leading comfortably, 53% to Hayworth’s 31% in a Rasmussen poll last month, before Hayworth officially announced his candidacy.

Endorsement of McCain alienates Palin supporters
4:55 pm January 26, 2010, by Jay

Sen. John McCain, the man who brought Sarah Palin to national prominence, is being challenged for re-election in the GOP primary by former U.S. Rep. J.D. Hayworth. Palin recently announced that she plans to travel to Arizona to campaign on McCain’s behalf, but posters on her Facebook page are not at all happy with their Sarah:

“Sarah, it was fun, but now you are done.”

“Sarah, your support of McCain shows bad judgment and brings into question the validity of your words. You can forget any political ambition if you support Amnesty – which John McCain does. Conservatives don’t forget.”

“You do know Senator McCain is a PROGRESSIVE? It is very disappointing that you are campaigning for him instead of J.D. Hayworth. McCain needs to go!”

“Sorry to hear that you are supporting McCain. Up to now, I thought you were part of the solution, but you’ve shown yourself to be part of the problem.”

“McCain!? Are you kidding me? Time to pick a side, Sarah– Are you with the people, or against them?”

“I agree with those who advise you not to campaign for Senator McCain. He really doesn’t represent the views of grassroot conservatives. He represents those in the GOP who have too often been willing to compromise on principle, or even worse, have failed to really understand basic conservative principles.”

...

“McCain is not a commonsense candidate. If you support him your future as a conservative candidate is over.”

“Another day ~ another appeal to our girl from Wasilla: PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not follow through with your plan to campaign for John McCain. In the insightful words of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman: “Big mistake. Big. Huge.” To do so will destroy your credibility, have your enemies carping: “I told you so,” and leave your fans devastated.”

That’s just a small sampling of some 2,500 comments,
