The government said Tuesday that foreign demand for U.S. Treasury securities fell by the largest amount on record in December with China reducing its holdings by $34.2 billion.
The reductions in holdings, if they continue, could force the government to make higher interest payments at a time that it is running record federal deficits.
The Treasury Department reported that foreign holdings of U.S. Treasury securities fell by $53 billion in December, surpassing the previous record of a $44.5 billion drop in April 2009.

This last move by China liquidated about 2.5% of their holdings. That sounds small, but it’s not.
With the internet fraud these days, be sure the cans are not empty.
Why not just stop up on sales of canned goods at local markets?

Another thought, if a nbc network is reporting this it has to be a lot nastier than what they are reporting.
I'm not sure just how this helps them, or anyone else. The were holding interest bearing paper; and now they are holding non-interest bearing paper.

What about the 5 gallon pails that are vacuum packed with various kinds of wheat? If the vacuum holds are those good almost indefinitely? What if the vacuum packed pails are stored in the summer at 80 to 90 degrees F. How much am I losing there? Thanks.
