World May Not Be Warming, Say Scientists (The jig is up)
Fox News ^ | 2/15/2010 | Sunday Times

The United Nations climate panel faces a new challenge with scientists casting doubt on its claim that global temperatures are rising inexorably because of human pollution.

In its last assessment, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) said the evidence that the world was warming was "unequivocal." It warned that greenhouse gases had already heated the world by 0.7C and that there could be 5C-6C more warming by 2100, with devastating impacts on humanity and wildlife.

New research casts doubt on such claims, however. Some even suggest the world may not be warming much at all.

I bet all these Czars live pretty “large” themselves while they ask the rest of us and the US to shrink our economies.

But that is because THEY are the "superior ones" who's purpose for being is to tell we 'inferior ones' how to live our lives. They are, after all, "intellectuals"...

The Center for Public Intellectuals & The University of Illinois-Chicago (UIC)
April 19th-20th, 2002, Conference

[Participants include: William/Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, Sen Barack Obama]

April 19th-20th, 2002
Chicago Illini Union
828 S. Wolcott

This conference is part of the Center's mission of helping to create a more engaged civil society, working towards social change, fostering coalitions between theorists and activists, and combating anti-intellectualism in contemporary culture. It will be both a celebration of ideas and a rigorous examination of the roles and responsibilities that intellectuals play in society.

I. Why Do Ideas Matter? (a keynote panel)

We introduce the “meta” theme of the conference by hearing “success stories” from diverse voices discussing their experiences intervening intellectually.

Timuel Black, Chicago activist; Prof. Emeritus, City Colleges of Chicago
Lonnie Bunch, President, Chicago Historical Society
Bernardine Dohrn, Northwestern University Law School, Children and Family Justice Center
Gerald Graff, UIC, College of Liberal Arts & Sciences
Richard Rorty, Stanford University, Philosophy

III. Lunch and Public Encounters

Alternative breakout tours led by Chicago activists. Tours of Bronzeville and other communities, and visits to organizations that are working on partnering theorists with activists.

IV. Intellectuals in Times of Crisis
Experiences and applications of intellectual work in urgent situations.

William Ayers, UIC, College of Education; author of Fugitive Days
Douglass Cassel, Northwestern University, Center for International Human Rights
Cathy Cohen, University of Chicago, Political Science
Salim Muwakkil, Chicago Tribune; In These Times
Barack Obama, Illinois State Senator
Barbara Ransby, UIC, African-American Studies (moderator)

"It was at the Chicago home of [Bill] Ayers and [Bernardine] Dohrn that Obama, then an up-and-coming 'community organizer,' had his political coming out party in 1995. “It’s not just temperature rises that tell us the world is warming,” he said. “We also have physical changes like the fact that sea levels have risen around five inches since 1972, the Arctic icecap has declined by 40% and snow cover in the northern hemisphere has declined.”

-snip-

Dr Vicky Pope, head of climate change advice at the Met Office, said: “This new set of data confirms the trend towards rising global temperatures and suggest that, if anything, the world is warming even more quickly than we had thought.”

When confronted with proof of their lies, these people simply raise the level and volume of their hyperbole. Bigger lies and more of them.

This ongoing circle jerk has to cease sooner or later.

Can we agree on something?
Segregate articles and propaganda disguised as news into pro-AGW and anti AGW.

Further, within each group, segregate the articles that actually lists the names of the "scientists." If the names are not there, junk the article; into the waste basket it goes.

From the remainder, make up two lists :

One list for the AGW proponent scientists.
Another for the refute-or-challenge-AGW scientists.

The actual/i> names of the scientists, and the schools or group with which they are associated (not mountain climbers; not graduate students; not runners; not tattoo artists)

Then let the informed and educated citizen ( and, one would hope, politicians ) decide which is more believeable.

I am so tired of and disgusted with the some-say, some-unnamed-scientists say, some-believe school of news reporting.

The world's scientists crowded into the “AGW Theater”. Now, some of them smell smoke. The smart ones will be heading for the exits, before the stampede and trampling begins.

The first guys out might be humiliated, but the last guys out get indited. The political class don't take well to being made fools of in public. When the Great Global Warming Hoax comes crashing down Obama and his gang of thieves are going to need to explain why they wanted to give trillions of dollars to these thieves. Rather than admit they were in on the hoax, they will go with the Bernie Madoff defense. Declare the scientists to be frauds and that they were after "Evil Money". They will need a show trial and put a few sacrificial scientists into jail in order to make it look authentic.

The bad news is it won't be any of the big names. They all have too many powerful friends to be touched. It will be some low level fresh out of school researcher that noddy has ever noticed before that will be fingered because he/she was foolish to be the one that signed some obviously fraudulent report. Al Gore and friends will quietly retire to start selling the next environmental hoax. And there will always be a next environmental hoax.

HOW BOUT IT MR SNIPPY ABOUT IT? COME OUT AND PLAY! ! ! !

Al was never one of the brighter bulbs on the tree. Why he chose a scientific venue in which to play his money scam is incomprehensible.
But not surprising, in view of his painfully limited education, IQ and common sense.

He should go back to trying to be a famous alpha dog...

I know now, there's a FR thread on this that's up. But I have a theory, based on scientific fact:

"Barber was aboard the Canadian research icebreaker Amundsen, checking on ice in the Beaufort Sea north of Alaska and Western Canada.

It's the carbon output from the icebreaker that is melting the ice. But that's ok, cause we need to know that that thick looking ice on Sat pic's is just full of swiss cheese like holes.

Kinda like the IPCC report, eh Cap'n Barber.

Prof Mann at Penn State is going to be facing another committee to examine the SCIENCE of his papers....

I think they need to read the new book:

The Hockey Stick Illusion: Climategate and the Corruption of Science (Independent Minds) (Paperback)

*****************************EXCERPT****************************

This is a superb review of the story of the hockeystick, the temperature reconstruction which was supposed to show that late 20th century temperatures were unprecedented for at least 1,000 years and which was highlighted in the third IPCC report in 2001. What Montford does in this book is take us through Steven McIntyre's attempt to reproduce the original result of Michael Mann and the controversy that followed.

Awww shucks.

I did not find that cached page, but unfortunately I can't remember who did. The thread popped up around 2 am one day when nobody's visiting FR. A great time for important stuff to die a quick death.
I just reposted it the following day when most of the visitors to FR are actually here.

We are a Constitutional Representative democracy.
Every time I see a non-elected militant socialist making up and enforcing rules that affect me, my family my community and my country, our economy and all of our futures --- I see red. I think ---insurrection.

Constitutionally, non-elected advisors and enforcers are --- well, unConstitutional, dammit!

Well, at least one news company in the major media is willing to report on the collapse of the global warming fraud.

The fact that the rest of the US media, our gov’t, and academia are still dancing around the edges of this issue only underlines their criminal complicity in the scam.

They’re also fools if they think that people haven’t noticed. Their silence on Climategage is deafening, and damning.
