There are defining moments in any era, and we are right now in the midst of the Great Collapse.

Jan 30, 2010: the hottest hoax

Open Magazine's "Hottest Hoax in the World" Cover Issue

Open Magazine's "Hottest Hoax in the World" Cover Issue

The weekend before last, a magazine cover called it Fraud.  This could have been New Scientist, Scientific American, Discover, or any of the other popular science magazines, but it wasn’t.  They were all scooped by an Indian publication, Open Magazine, that had only been running for a year.

The climate change fraud that is now unraveling is unprecedented in its deceit, unmatched in scope—and for the liberal elite, akin to 9 on the Richter scale.  Never have so few fooled so many for so long, ever.

The entire world was being asked to change the way it lives on the basis of pure hyperbole. Propriety, probity and transparency were routinely sacrificed.

Long debate ended over cause, demise of ice ages – may also help predict future

*************************************EXCERPT*********************************

8-6-09

CORVALLIS, Ore. – A team of researchers says it has largely put to rest a long debate on the underlying mechanism that has caused periodic ice ages on Earth for the past 2.5 million years – they are ultimately linked to slight shifts in solar radiation caused by predictable changes in Earth’s rotation and axis.

In a publication to be released Friday in the journal Science, researchers from Oregon State University and other institutions conclude that the known wobbles in Earth’s rotation caused global ice levels to reach their peak about 26,000 years ago, stabilize for 7,000 years and then begin melting 19,000 years ago, eventually bringing to an end the last ice age.

The melting was first caused by more solar radiation, not changes in carbon dioxide levels or ocean temperatures, as some scientists have suggested in recent years.

From Newsmax’s bulk e-mail of today:

Back in September 2008, environmentalist Robert Kennedy Jr. wrote an article raising the alarm about global warming and the resultant lack of winter weather in Washington, D.C.

On Monday, Feb. 8, as the nation’s capital dug out from under a ferocious snowstorm, The Washington Examiner reran an article from last Dec. 21, published as Washington was struggling to dig out from under an earlier snowstorm.

“Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who flies around on private planes so as to tell larger numbers of people how they must live their lives in order to save the planet, wrote a column last year on the lack of winter weather in Washington, D.C.,” wrote The Examiner’s Online Opinion Editor David Freddoso.

He quoted from the article written by Kennedy, a lawyer specializing in environmental law, which ran in the Los Angeles Times: “Recently arrived residents in the northern suburbs, accustomed to today’s anemic winters, might find it astonishing to learn that there were once ski runs on Ballantrae Hill in McLean [Va.], with a rope tow and local ski club.

“Snow is so scarce today that most Virginia children probably don’t own a sled.”

He reminisced about ice skating on a Washington canal, “which these days rarely freezes enough to safely skate.”

“Meanwhile, Exxon Mobil and its carbon cronies continue to pour money into think tanks whose purpose is to deceive the American public into believing that global warming is a fantasy.”

Freddoso observed on Dec. 21: “Having shoveled my walk five times in the midst of this past weekend’s extreme cold and blizzard, I think perhaps RFK Jr. should leave weather analysis to the meteorologists instead of trying to attribute every global phenomenon to anthropogenic climate change.”

Last weekend’s snowstorm paralyzed the Washington area, knocking out power to thousands of homes, closing schools and businesses, and shutting down the federal government.

Dulles International Airport near Washington received a record 32.4 inches of snow, and a town in Maryland close to D.C. was blanketed by 40 inches.

Another snowstorm walloped Washington on Wednesday. As of 2 p.m. that day, the snowfall total for the season had surpassed the 54.4-inch record set in 1899, and it rose to 55.6 inches by 4 p.m. in the city and to 72 inches at Dulles.

best summaries of the incestuous, corrupt, and narcissistic world of climate change politics

************************

This would be one of the best summaries of the incestuous, corrupt, and narcissistic world of climate change politics to date. The sneering contempt that many good-willed scientists have suffered at the hands of the scientific prostitutes, and outrageous fleecing of world's citizens by opportunistic politicians and assorted con-men, must be repaid with lengthy jail terms by those responsible. Each country must launch their own independent investigations to determine what role their scientists, environmental advocates and politicians played in this massive scam. If national governments won't initiate proceedings, they must be replaced at the next election. 31 January 2010 | Keith

Thank God for the Internet.

And thank God for the hacker who first tapped into the EAU e-mailboxes and found the first sniffs of the fraud. We learn not only that the "science" is more politics than science but that media is more about agenda than truth. The "deniers" deserve medals, not scorn. They were willing to show the emporer had no clothes at great personal risk. When we get a Republican back in the White House, I'll ask through my congressman to recommend the hacker be awarded the Medal of Freedom because I can think of few who are more deserving.

There is no law against committing scientific fraud and intimidating all detractors. And to prosecute the scientists responsible now for such a law after it’s been written would be ex post facto legislation. So until they enact such a law in any jurisdiction, let’s get in on the act!

My fifty years of scientific research, started a year before I was born, indicates that our greatest worry right now is global mating. Yes, Mt. Everest is getting bigger and bigger. Soon it will erupt, unless we send a note to Saturn telling her to stop shaking her rings at him, and dress more modestly. We may also want to fill the Grand Canyon up with salt peter, and give the Earth a cold shower. Do it all now! We haven’t a moment to lose!

A response I posted in another thread regarding the perks and grants related to Climate Change:

Oh, it’s much bigger than grants, and self enrichment - it’s about Global Socialism. Are the radical climate ‘scientists’ really mercenaries for another agenda?

Paul Martin recently appeared BBC World News covering the economies of Canada and the U.K. Throughout the interview, digressing from the main topic, Martin interjected information about his humanitarian efforts in South Africa - off topic, but nonetheless an honorable cause. He seemed to use the diversion as way to avoid criticizing current policies. Regardless, his characterization about solutions for the poorer countries was telling as it involved “Climate Change”.

According to Martin, addressing “Climate Change” is an imperative to the stability and growth of economically challenged nations. The obscure relationship went unchallenged during the interview. But perhaps it’s not that obscure to those that consider Climate an attribute of the imperative “Climate Change”, and not so much the object of the former view “Global Warming”.

Climate Change is effectively Hype Money.

In addition to going after the scam artists masquerading as scientists, we need to stop the “educators” in our public schools from indoctrinating our children on this subject.

There is no law against committing scientific fraud...

If the fraud is used to gain government grants, I think there might be some laws involved.

Thanks Ernest for this one and probably all these as well!

Saw an ad in favor of domestic hydrocarbon fuel development over the weekend. The Manchurian Kenyandate is being given a colostomy by Schlumberger. and from the "I'm Sure This Was A Green Power Plant" desk:

But naughty Earth just wants to fill up her ocean basins with 3/4 of the Moon. And I think she should. Because then she'd be more well-rounded, and that's just ... better.

Unless Gaia decides she wants to be gay. And then --- oh dear, for the devotee community, it's all so complicated.

Was it after that all-Al Gore issue? That made me sick. Didn’t cancel, but will not renew. Only kept it going to see if the ever-thinning magazine made it to the end of the subscription term.

It's time to turn the tables on the AGW folks and call for Nuremberg type trails for those who propagated the hoax.
