Tea Party Candidate May Ensure A Harry Reid Win

This is just beyond asinine. (h/t doubleplusundead)

Sun columnist Jon Ralston is reporting that the Tea Party has qualified as a third party in Nevada and will have a candidate in the Senate race to battle for the seat held by Majority Leader Harry Reid.

The party has filed a Certificate of Existence but needs to get 1 percent of the electorate to vote for its candidate in November to permanently qualify, according to the report.

Ralston reported that Jon Ashjian will be the Tea Party's U.S. Senate candidate on the November ballot. Ashjian still must declare his candidacy.

Awesome.....this goes a long way towards ensuring Harry Reid stays the Senator of that State.

“Vote for people you agree with. I love Tea Party candidates if the republican is a RINO. Go Tea Party!!!””

The historic example of this being 1992, considering Rossa Perot the Tea Party equivalent.

As Palin would say: “How’s that working for you?”

Do the democrat people pay you by the post, or by the hour?

The Whigs lasted only 22 years and were merely replaced by the Republicans at their death, besides that was in 1854.

“I will not vote for Newt in 2012. period.”

I really don’t like him either. IMHO, he helped to ruin the GOP in many ways.
In a hypothetical, I’d rather have the self important Newt than the marxist that’s there now trying to destroy our country.

It was amazing how similar they were to today’s Republicans, though.

Who is this guy and where did he come from.

I have faith that the local Tea Party people will either already know, or it won't take long to find out.

I don't think the two political parties or the media have realized yet just how powerful this movement is!

Deep and strong, the conservative Americans who make up the 'silent majority' have been awakened from their apathetic slumber.

Harry Reid and the rest of the "holier-than-thou" career politicians in DC are in for a shock! And I'm going to enjoy watching them squirm!

Oh that’s interesting. Which party would that be? Libertarian or Constitution Party?

Hmmm...what did Einstein say doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is again?

Your party's candidate has run for the Senate three times and the Presidency four times, yet never even coming close to winning an election, and he will be running again for the fifth time in 2012, and measuring votes by the few tens of thousands and you will be his party chairman again.

Hmmm...what did Einstein say doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is again?

By the way, the premise of this article is a bit flawed. The Independent American Party of Nevada, which is the state’s affiliate of the Constitution Party, has more than fifty thousand registered voters in the state. But they will almost certainly have little effect on this race. Same goes for this group, only more so.

In fact the the Republicans have several solid conservatives running in this primary, and as long as the GOP primary voters pick one of them they are almost certain to win in the current environment.

Well, your record as a thread nanny and thread stalker is intact. But, really, you need to get some new material. You’re such a bore.

To be a “traitor” they have to come from your ranks. That’s pretty much the definition of a RINO, isn’t it?

There are two good conservatives - Sue Lowden and Danny Tarkanian seeking the GOP nomination. Too bad one has to lose.

LOL, no it isn’t, the Republicans still exist and have been here since 1854 and they just came off a two term President and are heading to regain it in 2012, the 2010 election seems to be shaping up nicely as well.
