Tea Party Candidate May Ensure A Harry Reid Win

This is just beyond asinine. (h/t doubleplusundead)

Sun columnist Jon Ralston is reporting that the Tea Party has qualified as a third party in Nevada and will have a candidate in the Senate race to battle for the seat held by Majority Leader Harry Reid.

The party has filed a Certificate of Existence but needs to get 1 percent of the electorate to vote for its candidate in November to permanently qualify, according to the report.

Ralston reported that Jon Ashjian will be the Tea Party's U.S. Senate candidate on the November ballot. Ashjian still must declare his candidacy.

Awesome.....this goes a long way towards ensuring Harry Reid stays the Senator of that State.

If Nevada Republicans nominate a true conservative they won’t have to worry. If they refuse to do so, they deserve to sweat.

That is how we kept Obama from winning the Illinois Senate seat, isn't it?

Yeah, they sure did in NY-23. Of course, the Republicans were the third party.

That was an anomaly. Third parties DO NOT WIN !!

“With Obama running for reelection in 2012 and Newt Gingrich winning the Republican primary, then all we conservatives can vote the Tea Party candidate instead of Newt, it will split the vote and let Obama win, but that is cool.”

I don’t like Newt either but, No. That is not cool. Zero needs to go now. I pray that our country can survive the next 3 years, let alone 7.

Its so obvious with a rat senator down in the polls like reid is with a sure pickup by the republicans along comes a “tea party” candidate which we all know will siphon off votes from the republican.Who is this guy and where did he come from. The medina chic was exposed too soon as well. She just seemed unreal and I could’nt believe what she said on becks radio program.Did she not know that would do her in?

I was only making a point, that poster likes Newt.

A third party candidate in Nevada could kill our chances against Reid.

The RINOs who run the Republican Party love the attitudes expressed on threads like this one. Y’all are helping pave their way back to power.

Never, ever, underestimate the stupidity of the American voter...

Or as Winston Churchill put it ...
"The best argument against democracy is a five-minute conversation with the average voter."

Somebody needs a Tea Party Constitution, because many of us have no idea who is in charge. The media keeps telling me it is some guy that carries around posters with the “N” word on it.

If the Tea Party saves Harry Reid from defeat, I am not going to support the Tea Party anymore.

Some people here may not realize that you also run a political party, and it isn't the Republican party.

The fact that you are the Party Chairman for a competing political party, would explain your agenda on this thread.

Of course, they’re using your own party’s power and resources to defeat you in the primaries. So, you’re up against that. Then, of course, they are very good at then pulling the rug out from under you even if you overcome that and your candidate makes it through the primary. Hmmm...what did Einstein say doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is again?
