This is just beyond asinine. (h/t doubleplusundead)
Sun columnist Jon Ralston is reporting that the Tea Party has qualified as a third party in Nevada and will have a candidate in the Senate race to battle for the seat held by Majority Leader Harry Reid. The party has filed a Certificate of Existence but needs to get 1 percent of the electorate to vote for its candidate in November to permanently qualify, according to the report.
Ralston reported that Jon Ashjian will be the Tea Party's U.S. Senate candidate on the November ballot. Ashjian still must declare his candidacy.
Awesome.....this goes a long way towards ensuring Harry Reid stays the Senator of that State.

EV you can’t keep us off of threads.
Your position as a party chairman seems to be going to your head.
Quit harassing me thread to thread.
Well, he doesn’t hide it. I know who he is, I know all about his party and his quixotic candidate, and he’s simply not what you portray him to be. You constantly use innuendo to sabotage other reader’s perception of the sincerity of his genuine beliefs. Attack the beliefs head on if you must. That’s just civil discourse. But attacking his motives by always implying he has some secret, nefarious agenda is nothing less than scandalous.
y’know he was bat sh!t crazy but he was fun to watch. i miss h. ross sometimes.
They look like jerks to me.
Hijacking the Tea Party name.
Of course, the Tea Party is an amateur movement, but you would expect people leading an actual Tea Party to at least have a web presence or have some experience in politics.
The last thing you want is a bunch of losers whose abrasive personality has made them so hated in mainstream politics that they are left screaming about candidate purity and being stalked on an internet message board.
You can read this very thread and again, just like always, see posters that don’t know who he is.
Which of my posts upsets you most?
“bat sh!t crazy”
That’s funny right there :)
OMG, OMG, OMG!!!
Barry Levinson was the attorney of...get this...John Wayne Bobbitt.
I kid you not:

Personally, I don’t think a Rino socialist is better than a Democrat socialist. Why corrupt both parties? So we can “win” what?
I hope and pray that those conniving Dems don't ever hear of this srategy.
Bobbitt arrested, faces charges of domestic violence
I see it now!!!

John Wayne Bobbitt and his surgically reattached penis are back behind bars in Clark County on domestic violence charges.
“Tea Parties” running as political parties with their own candidates are almost surely Democrat and/or Soros financed and promoted.
it’s one of my favorites. i also like “crazier than a sh!thouse rat”. we have lots of ways to denigrate someones sanity around here.
From a previous post the leading R contender is a conservative who has had Sarah Palin’s dad campaigning for him.
RINO’s are not much better but just about any R would be better than Harry Reid. That squirrely ba$tard has done his best to ram the most socialist/marxist legislation through without any regard to rules, regulations and decorum. He is totally tone deaf to the will of the people. So let this third party spoiler do what they are supposed to do, and keep him in his position as the Majority Leader.
One other thing to remember is that more R’s helps to change the majority. If the R’s manage to get more than the D’s then they are in charge of the committees which is better than majority of D’s.
What strategy? Running faux Tea Party candidates?
Also dropping in here to say I'm glad to see all the wisdom about third-party runs on this thread. EV, I applaud your energy and patriotism but I agree with those who say we have to unite behind one candidate against Reid.
That is laughable, letting people know that the person pushing the radical third party agenda, is the leader of the radical third party, is the statement. The chairman of a political party does have an agenda.
If I were in a frustrating argument with a driven poster with an unusual and counterproductive agenda that was constantly attacking freerepublic's and America's favorite conservative and it was party chairman Howard Dean, then I would like to know
*shudder*
: > )
No, Sun columnist Jon Ralston is not on Reid’s payroll. He’s just a lazy and rather dishonest reporter.
The GOP has two good conservatives in the primary:
Sue Lowden and Danny Tarkanian.
This guy is hijacking the Tea Party name and he’ll go nowhere, and deservedly so.
