Just to point out: on Sunday, March 1st, 2009, those of us in Chambers Co., Alabama, got roughly 5.5" of snow, after a 70 degree morning the day before that produced torrential rain and spawned a pair of destructive tornadoes in adjacent Lee Co. Last Friday, there was a good 4"+ on my car and in the yard. Now we're under another statewide winter weather advisory this evening, with a winter storm warning creeping southward to our county line, and anywhere from 1-4" forecast overnight. Two more inches, give or take, and we'll have seen a full foot of snow here in a 12 month calendar period, which is twice the collective total I've seen in the previous ten years I've lived here. Now, I don't need that put in perspective, vis-a-vis what other parts of the nation are going through; back in my old homestead of Allegany Co., Maryland, there's been over three feet of snow dumped on the family home in the last two weeks alone, with another 5-10 inches in the immediate forecast. (Hell, the wife and I were sitting in the family Jacuzzi there on Christmas Eve, and there was already a solid foot of snowpack on the ground three feet away.) And all this while that Tennessee bumpkin Al Gore and his cherry-picking data miners are trying to tell us that everything from BBQ grills to farting pigs are turning us into a open-air party sauna. Humbug, I say. Not only is Gorebull Warming a scam, I officially predict that next winter will be even worse. The next hot commodity won't be gold, it'll be Duraflame logs.
