TIFTON, GA (WALB) –An unusual case of animal cruelty in Tift County. Someone shot a cat with an arrow. The family thinks someone in their neighborhood is responsible. They hope whoever did it will admit it.
Meet Tom, the five year old family cat with a whole lot of personality, and a whole lot of strength.
"He's got the exit wound and entry wound where that arrow was lodged in him," said Dr. Branch.
For being able to survive a cruel and unnecessary act, that could have taken his life.

Tom the cat really does have nine lives...
And I hope they catch the piece of white trash that did this (it's just a hunch) -- the devil-worhipping imbecile with the deadly weapon and...give him his due.
It’s a black cat. The shooter was superstitious.
You seem to be a cat person cats-r-us.
How utterly empty and morally bankrupt are so many bodies that inhabit the world; and closer. . .I hope they find the perp.
It looks like a marauding feral bird killer to me

“They hope whoever did it will admit it.”
I hope they’re not holding their breaths waiting.
It could just be an unfurtunate accident.
1. White trash?
2 Devil worshipper?
yer jumping to a lot of conclusions. personally, i hope whoever did this reads the article and keeps their mouth shut.
they would more than likely be punished as if it was a human that was shot.
Looks like a crossbow bolt.
Maybe they should learn to keep the cat at home, in the house.
There are several cats, probably feral but have no way of knowing, that come onto the property and cause problems. They climb under the house and have litters of kittens, the place smells of their spray and urine. No collars or tags that can be seen.
I won’t be using any arrows on them. I use a .22 when I see them and have a clear shot. Next, I’ll start using the 12 gauge. Then SSS. If they’re the neighbor’s cats- tough. Keep ‘em home. But when they go to other’s property and cause problems, then they’re gonna get taken care of.
The only problem with using the arrow is that it can hit them and not kill them, and they can then run away, maybe back home. Why should people whose property is being damaged have to put up with them?
I fully understand the difference between animal cruelty and getting rid of marauding animals. This cat probably fell into the latter category. That’s why it was shot. And I don’t see any collar in the pic. Maybe they took it off to treat it, but how is anyone supposed to know that it’s your poor wittle kitty when it’s far away from your home and tearing up or damaging other’s? Hmmmmm?
While I don’t condone shooting cats with field point arrows,,, what should a person do when the 4 next door neighbors let their cats out at night to pee on my car and scratch it up by jumping up on it?
Looks like a crossbow arrow or quarl as they’re called ...(or was it cut down some) ... my dad has a couple of x-bows ....
The two are pretty much synonymous.yer jumping to a lot of conclusions. personally, i hope whoever did this reads the article and keeps their mouth shut.
I have a good track record.
article says they found it broken off like this. my guess is that it was a small powered bow. most cross bows have enough wump to go thru a cat. not that i’ve ever shot a cat with a bow.
It’s up to you to build a garage. (semi sarc)
My wife’s cat was getting on the neighbor’s convertible. I bought him a Ssscat Repellent device. Happy ever after!
