Vote Green, Recycle Congress.
Pretty damning, ain’t it?
...remember whe Perot ran for President?....that year there was a movement called “This Fall Fire ‘Em All”....it was an anti-incumbent surge started by a retired guy down in Florida....it failed in November...basically, the voters LIKE pork...as long as it’s delivered to their baliwick...that’s why incumbents keep getting re-elected...they deliver the pork.
37 Percent of the electorate;
What I’d like to see is a poll along the lines of “I’d like to see all of them replaces except for MY Congresscritter. Y/N”
Only 38% of all voters say their local representative in Congress deserves to be reelected, ...
From the poll:
“Only 38% of all voters say their local representative in Congress deserves to be reelected, regardless of how Congress is doing overall. Thirty nine percent (39%) say their representative does not deserve reelection. Twenty-three percent (23%) are undecided.”
Then that 63% had better put their money where their mouths are on election day.
The storm clouds are growing and it’s possible that the storm will be a gully washer in November.
This doesn’t often translate into an actual “throw the bums out” event, but it might in this case, this year.
Usually, these polls can be translated into “I want to throw out everyone ELSE’s congressman, but keep mine.”
I wish I could be as optimistic as you, but this crap happens every cycle - a majority of folks say a majority of Congress ought to be thrown out, but they vote for their OWN incumbent. Every time (almost).
Is it really different this time?
I hope so, but I don't believe it.
NJ, VA and MA say “YES” it is. Republicans hadn't won a US Senate seat in MA for over 30 years before Scott Brown won in January.
Hopefully, those in AZ are reading these numbers and will act [vote] accordingly, when they selection Other Than McCain.
Arkansas seems set to send several new faces to Washington.
Three of the representatives are either retiring or running for a different position.
Senator Lincoln’s numbers are running behind most of the 10 or so Republican challengers.
==
Washington may be filled with many new faces, come January.
Thank you, Obie. [See, he might be good for something, after all.]
Obama is on the clock.
Never relect anyone? Are you kidding? Can’t put everyone in that basket. There are some good ones trying to do the right thing.
“Usually, these polls can be translated into I want to throw out everyone ELSEs congressman, but keep mine.”
Sad, but true. But after Massachusetts, ANYTHING is possible.
Like I said, I think THIS year is going to be different.
