'Miss Me Yet?' Billboard With Photo Of Bush Is Real; Not An Internet Trick
NPR ^ | February 8, 2010 | By Mark Memmott

Internet chatter had led to speculation that it might be an urban myth -- nothing more than clever digital trickery spreading via the Web.

But our friend Bob Collins at Minnesota Public Radio assures us he's seen it with his own eyes:

There is a billboard along I-35 near Wyoming, Minn., with a huge photo of former president George W. Bush and this question: "Miss Me Yet?"

It's a swell broad-brush accusation that you make fishtank, but it bears no resemblance to reality.

I haven't seen one "Party first RINO" on this thread.

Just those of us who use their brains first and keep their emotions under control. Those of us who look at facts and don't react with jerks of our knees, as you do.

You should try joining us some time. You'll live longer. :)

Obama (Socialist in Chief) is the president thanks to your good friend Bush.

You know, Sprite, you can repeat that lie until you turn blue, but it doesn't make it any more true.

The FACTS don't back up your silly emotional attack here. The FACTS support many reasons for Obama's win, but they don't include the man of integrity, George W. Bush, for whom you have a personal, and clearly irrational disdain.

Get a grip on those emotions, Sprite. Get a grip.

Nominating John McCain is the reason we have Obama. Bush didn’t lose to Obama.

I don’t miss Bush. He screwed up so badly that he enabled the election of “Anyone but GOP” 0bama.

And now look at what Zer0 is doing to the country.

You know who I miss? So hard my heart aches? Reagan.

Both Obama AND McCain campaigned against Bush.

The idea that it was Bush's fault that Obama won is ludicrous.

Thanks for the reminder. Bush was a spendthrift RINO who believed in open wallets and borders.

The only way we will restore this country is by installing real conservatives, unlike Bush the father and Bush the younger.

Poppycock.

1. Eight years of media lies against President Bush
2. Media drooling over Obama
3. Obama's incessant lies and the cover up of who he really was and is
4. A Dem caused financial crisis blamed on Bush
5. White guilt
6. Illegal international funding of Obama
7. American idol post-teeny boppers voting for a phony rock star
8. An incredibly weak Republican candidate and poorly run campaign
9. A Congress filled with R's who forgot who they were

And that's just off the top of my head. Bush "screw ups" causing Obama's win? Not even close.

Why do you think they both campaigned against Bush? Even Sarah talked about “change”. The American people wanted to switch away from the current party. If Bush was doing such a great job, why do you think they wanted to switch?

Thanks for the confession that you agree with Jesse Jackson.

All conservative patriots on this board should file that away whenever you post more anti-Bush tripe.

John McCain refused to allow Sarah Palin to speak out in support of President Bush.

Bush did a great job in many, many areas, all of which were ignored or denied by John McCain. He was a very, very bad candidate running against a mythological creature who could do no harm. His loss was not because of Bush.

I listed above a group of reasons why people wanted to "switch." The main reason, aside from the diabolical lies about who Obama was, were the diabolical lies told about who Bush was, about the economy, about our foreign policy, about his pro-life stance, and about our brave troops and the war in Iraq, told for eight long ugly years.

I'm sorry some people claiming to be conservative fell for the media slop.

The democrats USED him as easily as they USED his father.. He was very easy to use.. almost like it was PLANNED... A normal man would be pissed off at that.. G.W. is not..

Its true McLame is also very easy to USE.. by democrats.. Hopefully Palin will not like being politically RAPED by the democrats..

No means NO... and Hell no, means WAR... the Civil War has already started..
Bingo. The radical left exploded and metastasized under Bush because he was such a wimp. The left said bend over and Bush said how far and should I run to the store for some more lube.

The greatest threat facing this nation was from the rise of the commies, marxists, and progressives clawing at the gates. Bush never said a word.

I miss Ronald Reagan.

Thanks, carmody.

Facts trump feelings every time.

There are Bush haters around here who can't deal wih the fact that George W. Bush isn't the devil personified, but it comes out in them sooner or later.

There is a huge difference between having policy differences from President Bush, and doing nothing but bash him.

IMO, that makes them irrational trouble-makers, and not legitimate debaters. (Fortunately, there aren't that many of them. They just make a LOT of noise. :)

Looming over the southbound lanes of Interstate 35 in Wyoming, Minn., is a grinning portrait of former President George W. Bush, asking “Miss me yet?”

At a time when President Obama’s approval ratings are cratering, the billboard appeared stealthily about a month ago.

“It was put up by a group of small business owners — who want to stay anonymous —because they felt Washington wasn’t listening,” said Mary McNamara, a spokeswoman for the company that owns the billboard. “They felt like it was a good way to get their message out.”

For the past two days, images of the billboard have raged virally across the Internet, with a Google search resulting in more than 100 million hits Tuesday.
