Breaking...
Peritonitis.
So we probably shouldn’t wonder if Murtha became a liability to the Dem leaders?
I usually try to reform them in the shape of my mouth.
I’m not in his district but I donated to his campaign. Donated to Irey’s, too. I hope he wins, Johnstown and the surrounding communities deserve it. Some very good people there.
I wouldn’t even attempt to reform a Black Forest torte...they are perfect as is!
Probably shouldn't. Really. We shouldn't. I won't if you won't. At least I'll try not to...
With thanks and condolences to the few good members, Murtha personified the essence of Congress ... a political cesspool.
He’s not a senator
They've forgotten that he was a socialist.
The people of his district will miss all the pork that he stole from the rest of the nation.
I am not happy that he is dead, but I will shed no tears for this EX-Marine.
And we probably shouldn’t wonder why the House is stopping investigations into Murtha’s illegal campaign fundraising “out of respect”, right?
May he have been escorted from this life by a squad of Marines from Heaven Company, 1st of the First Marine Division....
...who remanded the prisoner over to serve his eternal punishment for bringing disgrace to the Corps and his country.
America Supreme! Death to Traitors!
And that’s all I have to say about that.
I’ve had my differences with Murtha, but I appreciate his military service. He had two Purple Hearts and another decoration I don’t recall at this moment.
I was saddened to see him tarnish his record with his antics concerning the military in recent years. At times I was very disgusted with him.
My sympathy goes out to his family for their loss.
Procedures governing vacancies occurring during the second session of a Congress differ from state to state, and are largely dependent on the amount of time intervening between the vacancy and the next general election. For instance, if a House seat becomes vacant within six months of the expiration of the previous incumbents term, many states allow the seat to remain vacant for a time, providing for a special election to be held on the regularly scheduled election day, at the same time that a regular election for that seat for the ensuing Congress is held. Other states, under these circumstances, do not provide for a special election, and the affected seat remains vacant until the ensuing Congress convenes the following January.Since the election has to go through primary, filing dates, notice of election etcetera, in many cases the seat stays vacant because the time required is enought to take them up to the normal next election, which is likely the case here. They never appoint replacements for House seats, but the special election is sometimes just foregone due to time issues and the seat stays vacant.

Good post. I agree.
I hope they never erase that blog. Dead or alive it’s a great record of the lows to which some will stoop.
“Wow. I guess we wont have to target him for defeat. RIP.”
Just his DOP-proposed replacement. RIP to his/her political ambitions.
