"Prove your case."
"I should prove, what, a birth certificate that may or may not exist?" Farah had gotten irritated. "Thats ridiculous. You dont even understand the fundamental tenets of what journalism is about, Andrew. Its not about proving things. Its about asking questions and seeking truth."
Breitbart tensed up after that insult. "Right."
"I know youre not a journalist, so thats fine. But dont diminish people whove been doing this for 35 years."
"So youre going to go on record saying that Im not a journalist?"
"Are you? Ive never heard you claim to be. Are you?"
"Ill let it be answered by you."
"Well, I knew [Matt]Drudge didnt consider himself a journalist, so I assumed that you were.
I dont know, Im not trying to insult you."
"You did."

Too late. Both Juan McCain & Sarah Palin should have POUNCED on this issue during the campaign, but they refused to do so. Hillary! should have brought it up during the Dim primary, too. They forfeited their chance by not bringing it up. They BLEW IT!
Me, I wish it hadn’t devolved so quickly into a pissing match. Would have liked to have read them both discussing it maturely and rationally.
Am I the only one who sees no "politics" in this?
It's about fairness, common courtesy, equal treatment. We little people must release our long form birth certificates or we don't get what we need. (Yes, in those cases where none exists alternative methods are available.)
All we are saying♩♪♫
is give release a chance♩♪♫
Unless this is a total lie on Weigel's part, Farah is acting like a nut.
L O L ..... You are exactly correct, it is NOT a "winning issue" BECAUSE under this 'stranger' WE the US is circling the proverbial drain.... YOU think this is an accident or just maybe the perfect man made 'storm'? OHHHH and I prefer the HEAVY DUTY foil if anyone is going to be sending me any.
They like to bring up tangential issues so they don't have to report on all the good things happening at the National Tea Party Convention
I’m on you side. Just from common sense and knowing what the thinking was around the time of The Constitution. This all points to you needing two US Citizen parents to be a natural born citizen
Real problem is where are the court cases?
At best you have a few from the 19th century.
Judges like to see some recent precedent
Has there ever been a court case challenging a person’s right to be President because he is not natural born? Besides the 0bama cases from Orly Taitz etc
Wrong. Obama admitting ineligibility would create a firestorm of pressure to resign. Nixon resigned under pressure for FAR less.
Exactly and very well said! It definitely is not a winning issue by the vast majority of Americans.
Breitbart is getting old fast. Trying too hard to be a BIG investigative journalist.
And for the above, we can thank Orly Taitz, Esq. Who would think a simple attorney from California who can't file a brief would remove the oxygen from a room full of attention-seeking attorneys such as Larry Klayman (who might've made a game of it)?
Indeed, if Obama, in fact, has an American birth certificate, then why doesn’t he produce it and end the controversy? The only logical reason is that he doesn’t have one.
Whatever your views are, the man is hiding his past. For some, that’s a non-starter.
The problem with the birther argument, outside of the fact that the birthers have not proven their case, is that no one else believes it, not even other conservatives. The minority who do believe it just come across sounding like conspiracy nuts, which is why conservatives need to stay away from this whole topic and oppose Obama on the issues. The birthers are not any closer to proving their case than they were during the 2008 elections. If there was any merit to their argument, it would have won over more adherents but it hasn’t. Their argument is not persuasive. There is no point in conservatives wasting any time on it. As Ed Morrissey points out at Hot Air, “the continued focus on Birtherism at these rallies undercuts the mainstream nature of the opposition to the Democratic agenda and allows the media to paint it as a paranoid mob obsessed with conspiracy theories. Not only is it not a winning issue, it will hang like an albatross around the necks of conservatives who tacitly or expressly link themselves to it.”
Sort of like, I don't know, admitting that you received oral sex from an intern half your age in the Oval Office, and trying to cover it up?
Suppose Obummer, the Marxist now posing as a Fascist, put his birth certificate up on the web for all to see with the comment:
“There it is. As you can see, it says that I was born in Kenya (or wherever) and that I was sired by a Brit”.
“Now that you have seen it, go suck. What are you going to do about it?”
OK, so what are you going to do about it?
Impeach?
Lots of luck.
It might happen, but it more than likely will be argued over for a couple of years.
Better to elect a congress in 2010 that will truly make him Zero.
I think Breitbart wants to be taken seriously, so he is following the guidelines that have been put out be the heads of all media, “Stay away from Obama’s Birth”. That is why the gutless FOX news people won’t even address it. Heck, even Rush hints that it is a legit issue once in a while, but there is some ‘reason’ it is not blowing up into a real issue.
