Breitbart Busts Birther at Tea Party Confab

by Charles Cooper
Attending the Tea Party Convention in Nashville this weekend, The Washington Independent's always-excellent David Weigel recounts an extraordinary hallway confrontation between online publisher Andrew Breitbart and WorldNetDaily Editor-in-Chief Joseph Farah over the question of President Obama's citizenship.

*snip*

"Prove your case."

"I should prove, what, a birth certificate that may or may not exist?" Farah had gotten irritated. "That’s ridiculous. You don’t even understand the fundamental tenets of what journalism is about, Andrew. It’s not about proving things. It’s about asking questions and seeking truth."

Breitbart tensed up after that insult. "Right."

"I know you’re not a journalist, so that’s fine. But don’t diminish people who’ve been doing this for 35 years."

"So you’re going to go on record saying that I’m not a journalist?"

"Are you? I’ve never heard you claim to be. Are you?"

"I’ll let it be answered by you."

"Well, I knew [Matt]Drudge didn’t consider himself a journalist, so I assumed that you were. … I don’t know, I’m not trying to insult you."

"You did."

Question: Has or does Breitbart ever appear on Fox New?

If he does that explains a **lot** about his opinion about Obama’s natural born status.

It’s a losing proposition because the American people are as blind as injustice.

I looked at all of them, and challenged you to come up with any way I insulted you.

Right, I explained that. You turned my response into yet another way to get a dig in with your smart ass remarks about "hot links." Once burned twice shy.

I've had several rather positive exchanges with most of the posters on this thread

You haven't changed any of their opinions either but for some reason you decided to take an attitude with me and keep it going. As others have said "you're in denial."

He has appeared on Red Eye a number of times. Great guy. He’s funny although a little thin skinned.

Also...If this is SOOOOOOO unimportant why are you wasting **YOUR** time on these threads? Don't you have much more important work to be doing?

That would seem to be a relevant question for a lot of persistent anti-birthers here. LOL

Sorry you can't take what you dish out

LOL, I have NOT tried to change any opinions

The list of things you don't get is getting longer

I don't care what anyone else said about me.

Good try.

As a response to your smart ass dig to me.

Well, I have never seen TigersEye in the news as front man for the birther issue.

Gotta link?

We’re getting a little off track here, but stopping socialism is a goal that can only be accomplished by ending government schools. - They are literally socialism spawning grounds.

Until we do that socialism will continue to pop up like Elderberry seedlings and burr clover.
++++++++++

Agreed. This is a real battleground. I support private and home schooling and school vouchers that support those options. The public school monopoly, opressive taxation and power mongering must end.

“why are you wasting your time on a birther thread?”

Many conservatives rightly care about the HI BC issue. Many more rightly care about the POTUS criteria laid out by the US Constitution - which is beyond just the HI BC issue, and involves certainly the NBC issue. Many more Conservatives and Independents of all stripes care about stopping the feds socialist overreach into our lives in areas like health care and the environment.

The libtards are isolating/ridiculing us into the ‘birther’ label. We need to unite and decide what will be successful in stopping socialism - and it aint being isolated/ridiculed. So I choose to recast, even though technically I could have been called a birther for about the first 12 months of that story. Now I’m an NBCer, and a Constitutionalist, and more importantly, in my mind, I’m someone who has joined with millions of other Tea Partiers to stop the socialist hordes from so far completely ruining this great country.

So though I care and have always cared since 2008 about the HI BC issue, and it’s never been answered sufficiently and is absolutely infuriating, I choose to defend that issue only on principle, and to focus at least at the USC NBC level or elsewhere in more effective territory.

As with Clinton’s indiscretions, and/or crimes, we may never get the satisfaction of justice in this life re: Obama’s true birth story. But we *can* have the satisfaction of having defended this nation against these two egregious ‘leaders’.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Most important we can stand before God and testify that we did all we could to preserve our nation's freedom.

In the Resurrection all will be revealed.

“In the Resurrection all will be revealed.”

Exactly. We must do all we can before God and man to stand for His precepts and truth.

Breitbart has appeared on Fox News!

This is an “ah ha!” moment! Of course Breitbart disses the birthers. If he didn't he'd never be invited on Fox News in any capacity again.

Bruce: “I’m focused on stopping socialism’s march, OK?”

Arthur: There are plenty of economics threads rather than trying to rattle our cage.

Bruce: Talking about efficacy rattles your cage? :)
******************

Bruce: ” ... prattling on about economics shouldn’t be despised.”

Arthur: Boredom is our enemy, the siren song of two bit wonks.

Bruce: Aha, glad you're not one of those! Most scintillating!
*****************

Bruce: “It wasn’t I who said, ‘it’s the economy stupid’ relative to winning electoral politics.”

Arthur: People can walk and chew gum at the same time.

Bruce: We can also continue to lose elections by being isolated and divided...sorry, count me OUT of that stance. We can have an effective strategy to both stand on the Constitutional issue of NBC and win elections and even talk about what most Americans care about at the household - jobs and not bankrupting the nation. It's amazing - when you do those basic things, people will listen to you about Constitutional principles.

Yes, a presidential candidate should hound Zero on the economy. I’m not a presidential candidate. Rush isn’t. Hannity isn’t. Boortz isn’t. This forum is not run by one.

You can mock my perception if you like. But your call for everyone to focus on the economy would destroy this forum and any new media that chose to march in lockstep with you. This is not a ‘rah-rah republican’ site. This is a place people go to to learn the truth. The same with all new media.

You are thinking mioptically. You seem to think that it’s either all one way or all another way, and the only way to have unity is to wonk on the economy.

Do you want the new media to shrink or expand in influence?

Trying to boss us around, to tell us what we should do, is only going to cause the opposite.
