Amy Kremer of the Tea Party Express on now.
She is saying the bickering is unnecessary, and we need to support each other.
Don't back down because of negativity of some.
If you don't like what another group is doing, ignore them
We have one chance, and the time is now
We need to stick together.
Today is Ronald Reagan's 99th birthday!
Fantastic start for today!
I have a very good feeling about the keynote address tonight from Governor Sarah Palin. There is something very special blowing in the wind and it includes God influencing events in our world. I dont think Snowmageddon is just coincidence.
Run Sarah, run!
LOL Give me a break! Scott Brown is a staunch supporter of Roe v Wade and abortion on demand in 99.5% of all abortion cases. His opposition to PBA does not make him Pro-Life to any degree. Harry Reid, Dick Gephardt and Tom Daschle also oppose PBA, I'm not about to vote for any of them.
>>>>>But if the tea partiers push a pro-life agenda nationwide theyll be killing off their movement in about a dozen states where we really need economic and foreign policy conservatives, at least. Reagan said someone who agreed with him 80% of the time was his friend (Im paraphrasing), and theres no reason to push 80%-ers out of the movement right off the bat.
So you want pro-life conservatives to run away and hide? This is Reagan's 99th Birthday anniversary. Ronald Reagan never ran from a fight in his life and neither should pro-lifers. The Republican Party Platform is clear and the Tea Party should embrace its Pro-Life plank on right to life issues. FRee Republic is also a Pro-Life forum of the first magnitude. Get real! If you support Roe v Wade and abortion on demand, you belong in the Democratic Party, or the Libertarian Party. The GOP remains America's Pro-Life party.
So basically they're Freepers! ;)
Yup. Genuine red blooded, God fearing, Liberty loving American Patriots.
"Abortion
While this decision should ultimately be made by the woman in consultation with her doctor, I believe we need to reduce the number of abortions in America. I believe government has the responsibility to regulate in this area and I support parental consent and notification requirements and I oppose partial birth abortion. I also believe there are people of good will on both sides of the issue and we ought to work together to support and promote adoption as an alternative to abortion.
Marriage
I believe marriage is between a man and a woman. States should be free to make their own laws in this area, so long as they reflect the people's will as expressed through them directly, or as expressed through their elected representatives."
How does that translate into "LOL Give me a break! Scott Brown is a staunch supporter of Roe v Wade and abortion on demand in 99.5% of all abortion cases."
I realize that for some conservatives abortion is the one issue that makes or breaks a candidate but for the rest of the world there are too many other issues that, at times, eclipse abortion.
If a candidate stands with the conservative view one every issue but abortion it is folly to turn your back on him.
Brown helped craft and pass the RomneyCare socialized medicine scheme.
But, in terms of Pro-life being a non-negotiable deal-breaker, how about if it was YOUR life we were talking about?
Yes! For anyone who wants to stop by and leave a tribute, DollyCali has a beautiful Happy Birthday tribute thread here:
What if it was? That discussion goes on every day in all parts of the world. People live - people die.
Might as well ask, " What if your wife and son were drowning....?"
Anyone have a link to Breitbart’s actual full speech?
Four states were only allowed into the Union if they would forever forswear plural marriage. Do you think that deal should be revoked and polygamy be accepted in the name of "states' rights"?
We’re talking about the protection of the unalienable right to life, which is the first premise of our republic. What if some class of people you belong to was stripped of what the founders called “unalienable”? If some candidate stated support for killing you and your peers, do you think perhaps the American people should reject them on this basis alone?
You sir, are the master of the straw man.
Good try, raybbr, but it’s like spitting into the wind.
Never mind that Justice Scalia has opined that decisons not expressly designated to the federal government belong in the state’s, as directed by no less than our Founders.
This thread is a celebration of our Tea Parties!
OUR SARAH IS GOING TO SPEAK THIS EVENING! CELEBRATE!
Please everybody, no hijacking today!
American babies continue to be brutally killed on average two per minute. I don’t think that’s a straw man.
I was simply responding with facts to a false premise that attacks pro-lifers and defends pro-aborts. That’s one the things we do on FR.
It looks like...can it be...??
IT IS !!
POLICY CHICK, IN PERSON! (THUD)
(Sound of grey_whiskers's heart skipping a beat, like Obama without a teleprompter)
Cheers!
TeaPartiers:Becoming politically relevant through civic duty and the Precinct Committeeman Strategy.
Cheers!
Well, why the hell don’t you get off your lazy ass and do something about it? You’re all mouth and no gun! At least Brown had the guts to get himself elected which in itself slammed the brakes on Obama’s Marxist agenda. Now it’s up to us to carry through.
The Tea Party rebellion says just vote them OUT and I’m with them all the way.
Lead, follow or get the hell out of the way!!
You well know that almost everyone, if not everyone, here is pro-life and adamantly pro-life. In fact, we pray for others who are not, that their minds will follow what surely must be in their hearts. What useful purpose is served to rehash the same things time and time again that have been discussed on different threads, and now bring it to this thread of Tea Party celebration when OUR SARAH who is the embodiment pro-life is going to give a beautiful speech that’s certainly going to embrace LIFE?
In the case of abortion, Scott Brown's own words from his last debate in the Senate campaign speaks out loud and clear:
""You and I both have the same position on abortion." -- Scott Brown to Martha Coakley, January 11, 2010 CSPAN Debate
Here's the deal with partial birth abortions. Annual figures for PBA's account for roughly 1/2% of all abortions performed in the US yearly. Brown supports abortions in the cases of rape, incest, to save the mothers life, serious long term health concerns and of course, EVERY and ALL personal and social reasons that a woman came come up with. That equates to his support for abortion in 99.5% of all cases.
As to the gay marriage rights issue. While Brown supports DOMA he also thinks the Massachusetts gay marriage amendment is settled law and he's happy to see states choose their own laws. Brown says: "States should be free to make their own laws in this area... That is music to the ears of the militant homosexual movement in America. Exactly what do you think it means? IMO, marriage is one of the oldest institutions in human social history and its always meant as a covenant between one man and one woman. Period.
>>>>>If a candidate stands with the conservative view one every issue but abortion it is folly to turn your back on him.
Wrong. It may be folly for you to turn your back on him/her. Not me. The Constitution specifically states, we have an unalienable right to life that comes from God. Any political candidate or elected official who supports Roe v Wade is not worth the vote of one conservative.
